There was actually a guy on Hardcore Sports Radio who picked the Falcons and Bears to win their divisions. No Lie.
holy crap, i'm seeing parts of Tom Coughlin's post game interview...just seeing how red his face is from the cold makes mine hurt.
I knew missing Plaxico wasn't the problem for the Giants. The run game was the problem. Tonight, Jacobs looked fucking healthier than ever and it really benefited the Giants. Ward was able to be an effective change of pace back. As long as Jacobs can be effective, the Giants will be able to win games. That defense looked terrible, though.
Note to self: Don't read the Official Steelers Message Board anymore. Talk about Bi-polar. Fuck. Season is over for them.
I still disagree man. The Giants made some significant adjustments to their offensive gameplan, running shorter routes that would allow Manning to get rid of the ball faster, and play to the fact that most of our WR's are possession receivers. The absence of Plax still had an effect though. A bunch of Mannings incompletion occured because he was throwing to Hixon as if he was Burress (they'd be a couple inches above him where Plax's height usually would come into play). Additionally, the Giants still lacked a significant deep threat and it reflected on Jacobs' ypc. NY was able to pass the ball enough to make room for Jacobs and Ward, but not enough for Jacobs to dominate like has in the past. The Giants O-line and backs definitely improved from the past couple games though, and credit has to be given to them. The lack of a number one receiver is still something this team has to deal with, but I'm encouraged with the adjustments we made over the week. These were things I suggested in the last thread, and the coaching staff implemented that and much more.
I agree missing Plax is an issue, but I don't think it was the major issue. A dominant running game and suitable receivers is all you need, I think. As they play more games, Manning will adjust his throws to get to Hixon, too. I'm not trying to discredit Plaxico here or down play his absence, I just think missing a healthy Jacobs was a bigger impact on this team.
Challenge on the play. Also, when we do the Threads for the Playoffs, Make Wild Card one thread and have a pick'em challenge. I'll run it.
I wonder if the Blazers fans (minus drexlersdad cause we know he does) like football. That'd be interesting
