Keto doesn't really work. You're almost certainly not in ketosis. Though, eating meat, beans, nuts, and vegetables is good and could help you lose weight by avoiding junk food.
Keto has worked great for me a few times. I do a paleo-keto mix. Next time I diet I'm going to try a paleo-keto-IF combo.
Yeah, we did it as well. And it did work for a bit by getting us to avoid junk food. My wife just loves rice, pasta, and bread way too much to be consistent... It's a battle.
I don't buy any of the premade packaged keto friendly foods for the first 2 weeks. I just don't believe the labels. And I love rice, pasta, bread, and potatoes. The bread I can get around with almond flour pancakes and tortillas. Homemade chocolate mousse is a lifesaver, lol. Simple to make too. Rice you can use cauliflower. Also the diabetic ketchup, BBQ sauce, and teriyaki sauce all work well.
These are delicious! https://www.costco.com/sonoma-creamery-pepper-jack-crisps,-10-oz.product.100439045.html
Costco has a lot of products that say they are Keto friendly. Do not use them for the first 2-3 weeks on the diet.
We also got one of these. First couple of weeks of keto I find snacking on hardboiled eggs really helps.
Exercise, try and stay around 50 grams of carbs a day (work your way to that goal). Eat to stay fit, Stay fit to eat.
If you listen to podcasts you check out Business Wars. One series of episodes was Hershey vs Mars. Really interesting. https://wondery.com/shows/business-wars/episode/5296-hershey-vs-mars-chocolate-town/
I need to start losing this gut. I gained some weight during Covid and have yet to lose it. Need to get in shape. Need to burn this fat and put on some lean muscle.
My goal is to drop 20 pounds by the end of June. Been dealing with some back issues but I think I have that under control so going to start running and biking.
