Ann Althouse voted for Obama. Ask yourself how quickly Christopher Lee or Larry Craig were pushed out/marginalized. Rep. Weiner is being protected by his party and the large media outlets.

Ok, let's ask ourselves that. Larry Craig got busted June 11, 2007. He left office January, 2009, after not running for reelection. That's 1.5 years. What's it been for Weiner, 3 days?

Christopher Lee, on the other hand, resigned the same day he was discovered. Maybe he was pushed out, but given the speed it seems more likely he made the decision himself.

Is hypocrisy now the standard? Yeah, the Left is never hypocritical when asking others to pay taxes while avoiding theirs or telling others to sacrifice while they live like pharaohs on the public dime.

As for me, I couldn't give two shits about any of these incidents. Larry Craig is a homosexual? Why should I care? Christopher Lee is having an affair? Okay. Anthony Weiner likes to send dick pics? Not my concern. All I'm saying is that the first two were pilloried while the last is being covered for. As for me, I like consistency in reporting. How about you?

who is living like pharaoh? lol this shit is rich.

and like i said, craig pleaded guilty to a crime, and lee instantly admitted it and resigned...as far as any sane person can tell, weiner had nothing to do with this "scandal", so he IS NOT going to resign...i think that is pretty consistent. if he was guilty, i would be the first to make fun. i mean the dudes name is weiner haha

So, you buy that Weiner's account was hacked? I'm a believer in Occam's Razor. It seems he's searching for the perpetrator of this awful crime with the same zeal OJ Simpson searched every golf course in Florida searching for the murderer of his ex wife and Ron Goldman.

People get hacked every day. It's a crime, sure, but it's almost always way more trouble to pursue someone than to let them go.

I'm not a Weiner fan by any means, but this is just not a big deal. There might be hypocrisy in terms of how it's being covered, but is that news to anyone?

Nope. I'm comparing the vigor with which two guilty men try to "find" the real perpetrator of the crime.

People do get hacked every day. However, I'd invite you look at the facts as they've been stated and the reaction by Weiner and the girl once they realized that photo was public. It's awfully curious.

You and I agree that it's not a big deal. I am simply pointing out the hypocrisy. If Anthony Weiner were a Republican representative from Texas, every major news outlet would be on this story like white on rice.

I think your examples are lacking. Christopher Lee resigned almost instantly - maybe he was "pilloried" after that, but there certainly wasn't time to pillory him beforehand. And if I remember correctly Larry Craig's issue didn't even hit the press until a couple of months later, after he had admitted his guilt in court.

You don't find a congressman's Blackberry, Facebook, and Twitter accounts simultaneously being hacked as newsworthy? Some recent college grad is sitting in jail for hacking Sarah Palin's yahoo email. So, Weiner claims he got hacked, but that he regained control of all of the hacked accounts/items in a matter of minutes, and he doesn't want the FBI to investigate the identity of his hacker? Plus, he retained lawyers and is "considering" legal action. That isn't his decision to make, is it?

Mmmmkay. Cool story, Weiner. So he sent a junk shot to some hottie. Just own it if it isn'[t a big deal. Or, if he did get hacked, prosecute the hacker to the fullest extent of the law. I'm thinking he probably made up the hacking excuse before thinking of the ramifications of what an investigation may bring. Filing a false police report would be a start, but what's on his Blackberry is probably a bit embarrassing, and what has been sent from it. So, now he needs to find a way to take back his "hacking" story and hope this thing goes away.
