he got traded for an expiring that is injured for the season, not sure what we could have given up but yeah
Brian FromWA @brianfromwa so for Ray Felton and Kurt Thomas, #blazers end up with Papanikolou, Maynor's RFA rights, cap space & 2nd rounder. #welldone #olshey
Is Maynor instantly our 6th best player and best backup? I think probably so although I haven't seen as much of him after the knee injury. I didn't realize he was going to be a RFA that is awesome we hold the cards on keeping him or not next season.
Ha ha this is funny: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nba/2013/02/21/portland-trail-blazers-oklahoma-city-thunder-trade-eric-maynor/1936493/ When all it costs is cutting the 15th player from the worst NBA bench in 28 years I'm all for taking the risk.
I think so. Maynor is a true PG and he can set up the offense. Lillard can play without the ball for stints of the game.
you're giving up a lot on D, as Maynor has been considered very weak since his draft day, and Lillard's not doing that hot with the second-best guard. But on offense? I think Lillard could play really well off the ball.
Eric Maynor @EMaynor3 I want to thank the Oklahoma City Thunder for everything the last 3 years......appreciate all the love n support from the fans as well......
"Giving Up A Lot on D" is our middle name! Seriously, I'm really more interested to see if Maynor and Lillard can play together for next year. I've been interested in Jarrett Jack because I think he can play backup 1 and 2 next year - I was wondering to what extent Maynor can fill this role. I agree that it would be nice to have a young Greg Anthony, and while we're at it how about a young Stacey Augmon too.
This is a good shrewd move by Olshey. We get a "competent" backup PG, for basically nothing, who is currently undervalued (we hope) since he's coming off a knee injury, his contract is up and we have his team option. Most importantly, Lillard can get a little rest (fourth in the league in minutes), and he obviously needs it. Didn't move Hickson for any assets, but I'll take it.
Wesley Matthews @wessywes2 In just a few short years we back at it again Bo! @EMaynor3 Eric Maynor @EMaynor3 @wessywes2 hahaha fo sho
