Various news sources are reporting that he's agreed to a deal with the Bulls. Here's the article on ESPN: Well this season just got a lot more interesting. This team has spacing issues, but it's as good a bet as any to play the Cavs in the ECF. Go Bulls!
Nice to see that they have at least picked a lane and are going with"win now." Is it enough to win a title? Probably not. Are the Bulls younger and more athletic? Not really. Are they going to adopt the rapid passing, 3 point shooting style like the Warriors and Hawks that so many were pining for when the Bulls were the #3 seed in the East with a Rondo / Wade / Butler pairing? Probably not. This team has the talent at this point to at least make the 2nd round of the playoffs. Do we have the head coach to make this whole thing come together? I have absolutely no confidence in answering yes to that question at this point, but the training wheels are now off Freddie Del Hoiberg. Its time to show us what you are. This whole thing does have the potential to be a complete dumpster fire if not handled correctly. Have to admit though, I'm excited about opening night now. Even though I know I'm getting played a bit. Would Lebron ever choose to join his old bud in Chicago now that he's put things right with Cleveland?
It's reassuring to know some of us remain undeterred in our skepticism, but I think this is unmistakably a great night for the team.
I'm not exactly skeptical about this move. The Bulls got DWade, finally. I wonder why hire a coach for his system, and then give him a roster that doesn't fit it. It is a bit ironic how the Bulls starting backcourt are two of the worst 3pt shooters in the past ~15 years.
I agree Denny both guys cannot shoot the 3 consistently. Yet both slash, as does Butler. We will see more transition scoring as well. Rondo, Wade, and Butler will command the the Free throws. Niko needs to start at PF We keep Gibson, that is a big plus. And...believe it or not Snell is still on the team. Why? His defense is needed. Barring injuries, we are a playoff team.
I think there's two ways to look at this. You could say that this roster makes no sense and the coach is a terrible match. But you could also say it's a player's league and the Bulls weren't going to do anything without an influx of talent. I'm glad the Bulls are taking a shot, even if the chances this roster comes together seem beyond remote.
Hey, LOOK WHO'S BACK!! Great to see you around again. This place isn't the same without you. Now if we can just get MikeDC and SausageKingofChicago back here we'll be all set. As far as I can tell the roster has everything except shooting from its highest usage players. I think from a lineup perspective the big issue will be getting frontcourt/backcourt combinations that balance shooting and defense. I suspect the guy that'll get squeezed might be Taj. His best position is PF, but that's also occupied by our highest volume shooter who basically has to be on the court now so it's hard put together a lot of lineups that feature him the way he was in the past. We might see a need to always have 1 guy in the frontcourt who can hit a 3, so Bobby and Niko might get more burn than they would otherwise.
Part of me feels like we're treading water and yeah we are hut this just sounds like it'd be fascinating to watch. Considering I'm not very attached to Rondo, Wade and Lopez, I almost feel like I'm not watching the Bulls anymore. We will certainly be a pain the ass for whoever underestimates us.
I am excited for this season. Do I expect us to win the title this season? No do I expect us to even make the NBA finals? No. This is basically a retool plan, and possible which lot of reports possible setup a plan for 2017, and probably 2018 free agents which hoping that Wade will help lure free agents in recruitment. That is what I think as for are we going to land those top free agents? Can't say have to wait and see what happens lets hope for the best but I am happy with the signing of Wade I was shock, surprise, and speechless with the news last week.
