So what was the trade exactly? Isn't there something about a $3.5 mil trade exception? If so, who gets it? Edit: OK nevermind I just saw the trade thread buried down the page.
We got it. We sent Vonleh plus cash (although we don't know how much it wasn't much - as we are restricted in how much we can send now) for the rights to this guy and 3.5 MIL trade exception that can be used anytime in the next 12 months I think.
I wish I could say the trade exception isn't nothing, but it's only something if the team actually uses it. And our record isn't great on that. Can the trade exception be combined with our existing trade exception (I'm thinking not but I'm sure someone knows for sure.) Thanks.
Nope, trade exceptions can't be combined with each other or with player salaries to create a salary match. You can get a little creative with breaking a deal into a couple of separate deals where the exception is swapped for one of the players and the player you want to send is swapped for other players/assets.
