Toumani has “want to.” His give-a-crapometer runs high.
Players who want to play defense: Toumani, Rupert, Murray, Jabari.
I like a lot of the players on this craptastic team!

Gotta say I agree - they're a good bunch of kids (and Reath, who's a very old "kid"). The problem with this team is certainly not likeability.

When he gets a consistent 3 point shot going he will be a lethal two player.

If we trade Grant and start Camara, our defense has the potential to be decent.
Scoot, Sharpe, Camara, Deni, and Ayton.

If we don't trade Grant, Camara will still get a ton of minutes since he can cover multiple positions.

would love to see him elevate his game this year, perhaps eventually become a solid starter, he said he worked hard this summer on his 3 pt shot, if he can hit that consistently we got something good

If he and Deni are both shooting the 3 ball close to 40%, Portland's 2024-5 tank won't work very well.

As pointed out in the video, Pippen had more "bounce", but he needed to have that since he was a poor 3 point shooter. TC is a so much better 3fg shooter.

    Pippen: 32.6 3fg% (career)
    TC: 34.8 3fg% (career)
    TC : 35.6 3fg% (this season)

My guess is that he'll end his career somewhere between 36 and 38 3fg%.

Should point out, however, that Pippen was the main cog in the offense when Jordan was out. TC likely will never have this responsibility. However, with his much high 3fg%, he doesn't really need to.

Love it. Now stay healthy and extend his contract the moment he comes eligible.

it's always a little iffy comparing a 2nd year role player to a 6-time NBA champion and a 7 time all-star with 17 all-NBA awards; that's especially true when they are from different eras and that's definitely the case with this one

I'd say Toumani is a little bigger than Pippen; I'm not sure he's as long as Pippen or as quick. But Camara's lateral mobility is probably on par with Pippen

I don't believe comparing 3 point shooting is fair to Pippen at all. The NCAA didn't implement the 3 point shot till Pippen's senior season in college. Meaning all thru high school and his first 3 years in college Pippen wasn't even practicing shots behind a 3 point line. He shot a grand total of 40 three's in college; Camara shot 231. Camara has attempted 388 three's in less than 2 full seasons; Pippen attempted 30 fewer three's than that in his first 5 seasons. If you project Toumani till the end of the season, then in his college career + 2 NBA seasons, he'll have shot 730 three's. In Pippen's college career + first 2 NBA seasons, he shot 140; less than 1/5th of Camara's total

Camara has been practicing three's since grade school; Pippen started practicing when he was a college senior back when three's were not emphasized.

Yep--in his two highest-volume seasons (96-97), Pippen was a 37% 3P shooter. Fair to assume he would have been there (or better) consistently if he'd come up in this era.

So I basically save every play of every game. Got certain names I have my guys call the players so we can find stuff faster. Certain types of plays so we can find stuff faster.
Only have 8 characters I believe on my machine I work on.
    So….. BRoy 2 LA
    Rudy 3
    Chief BlkBrk
    Dame 2 HW
That type of thing. Obviously over the years I typed Dame 3 a million times. So while doing this, my head is down working and NOT watching the game. I rarely know what the score is at all, just know WHO had a good game and HOW. CJ BREAK for example.
What I have found myself typing over and over this past 18 months is CAM DEF for Camara Defense. He gets a CAM BLK or CAM STL or CAN CHARGE all the time…..but I find myself load up my drives with play after play after play of CAM DEF. I’m saving these plays from the moment the other team inbounds the ball and Toumani is just pressuring and smothering the opposing PG. It may not lead to a steal or block, but it is definitely affecting/effecting the other teams offensive flow. I may have gone YEARS in the past not clipping off and saving or typing plays like that and I literally do it on many occasions nightly. Also, I am finding myself typing this for Scoot recently as well. Like they say defense is contagious. Tou is becoming one of my favorites. I’m excited to watch him grow.
Side note: An OUTSTANDING dude. Very cool, polite…..love this kid.
