Mixum thinks there's a Gasol type trade made every year. He's just clueless and is whining just to whine.

I think KP is a mega-douche bag but it's too late for a trade

Most of our assets are injured.

    We don't have the RLEC.

    KP played poker and lost.

He tried to get a big though FA but we really shouldn't have had to take that rout when we had RLEC.

I wish somebody would do a study of trades vs free agency. I would bet dollars to donuts that trades prove to be a better gamble.

ESPECIALLY when you consider the history of this franchise. The next "Marquee" free agent the Blazers sign will be the first. Think about it - who's the best FA we've ever had? Kenny Anderson?

Quit acting like it was you against the world. You and everyone else knows that the entire board "roasted" you because of your constant irritating, malevolent and poorly written posts.

And they still do. Go figure.

There were PLENTY of other people who wanted an RLEC for SF trade, you were just too self absorbed to notice.

There's really no realistic trade scenario where we would become a contender this season.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I miss Batum. At the very least, he can be developed while we have no hope for the season anyways.

I'm with Mixum. We need a trade. I used to be a "Keep everybody" guy in here, but now it's pretty obvious to me that we need a trade. I don't think Mixum's so much as being negative so much that he wants us to be a better team. Don't we all?

B-Roy- what do you mean you can't believe you miss Batum? You're a Batum hater? We've definitely missed him this seaosn.

I don't believe Batum would have contributed much to winning the title. I don't believe it was worth the time to develop him. But since we don't have a shot now anyways, I want some young players to develop.

No, I prefer they do poorly. I don't believe in conventional notions of professional sports success, like winning games and championships. I think there's a spiritual benefit to be gained by losing with scrappy asperity. There's a nobility to that that enriches theirs and our souls. Therefore, I'd rather the team be worse.

    MIXUM is spiritual like me.

    STRONGLY disagree.
Batum is a fantastic talent, and extremely good value for where he was drafted within the first round.
Nic is the type of defensive wing that is crucial to a championship team, the guy that shuts down the other teams star player.
    Defense wins championships.
Also, Batum shows poise beyond his years, professionalism, and it looks like he's slowly developing some offensive moves if the his play for France is anything to go by.

He's definitely a keeper, and an integral part of our future success. (In my book, anyhow).

There is no realistic trade that we could make that would make us a contender this season. None. That's just the way it is. We need to get our guys healthy and prepare for next season.

I agree with the first part, but not the second.

Just getting this disfunctional healthy won't be enough.
