If you wanted 15 million a year would you ask for 15 from the beginning? I wouldn't. However if I was hoping for 12-13 I would probably start around 15. Agents use different techniques to get to the end result. Not sure if this will help him or not, but I don't think the strategy is all that crazy.

Wes is asking for the same amount of money per year as I am, lets see if either of those pipe dreams come true.

I never said this is a good idea...I think it's organization that puts a big emphasis on PR and it wouldn't surprise me.

I blame all this on Chandler Parson's deal with the Rockets last off season..now every player who think's he's better than Parsons wants that check

Yup, that's what I immediately thought--nobody's going to pay him that much. It's 2 car salesmen playing tag with the customer.

Well being at the bottom of the West for years is even worse for PR, so I don't think they would. I think if they think he and LA are gone then they'd try everything outside of trading Dame to trade up for D'Angelo Russell

Let's be honest: no basketball player is "worth" $15 mil. But if you define "worth" by "what someone is willing to give", then he may be worth it, and he may be better than others who get the same deal.

Also: it's an average. So you could start around $12M and go up in increments and have the last, massive year be an option year. Or hope to trade him (like Houston did with Asik and Lin).

Once the cap goes to 90 mil in 2016, this will represent about 16.6% of cap. It's projected to go to 108 mil in 2017.

Currently, he's getting like 11% of the cap.

Not that different. And he has been vastly underpaid with his production.

The only concerns are his Achilles and his ability to recover from it, along with opportunity cost. The cap jumping so massively in one fell swoop will give us a competitive advantage (lotsa capspace) next summer. Having Wes' contract, LA's, and Dame's on the books next year takes away that advantage.
