There's not a chance in hell he is gonna leave now. For fucks sake the owner of the damn team went in to check on him immediately, the mutual love between Wes and the Blazers will never die.
I know I'm late, but wow, out for the season. http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/236942/Wesley-Matthews-Out-For-Season-With-Torn-Achilles
How does this not hurt out title chances, or even getting out of the first round? Afflalo will fill in fine for Wes. But who will pick up Afflalo's production off the bench? This is a major blow, and maybe too big to overcome. With Wes, it was WCF for this team, without him, we'll be blessed making it to the 2nd round.
FUCK! I wasn't able to watch the game, got an update on my phone we killed the Mavs, was very happy. Then I look at ESPN and see we lost Wes. Fuck!
fuck man it isn't going to solve anything but im going to go play nba 2k now and drop 50 points with wes. Get better soon.
different sport, but I'm a fan of the Broncos and know Demaryius Thomas tore his achilles and this is someone who relied just on athleticism coming into the NFL. Well if you watch the sport you know he is still very athletic and a beast of a WR.
Fuck man I feel like bad luck lol. I hope he can return to Portland...if not, well, he had a good run here.
Dominique Wilkins came back after a ruptured achilles and averaged 30 pts a game and 7 rebounds. His best year of his career.
This injury scares me for Wes though. He goes full tilt and puts a lot of pressure on his ankles, I think we're gonna see him slow down considerably and become more of a 3. Which isn't terrible, he has the skillset to guard larger slower guys.
