I wonder how many first round draft picks we could get if we were to either trade or sign and trade all of our starters?

    A) It's 45.1%, and LMA shoots 45.9%. I complain about LMA's jumpshooting because RAY FUCKING HIBBERT shoots a better percentage on 10-23' jumpers than he does (53-134, 39.5% vs. 147-381, 38.6%)!

But that's beside the point, because Hibbert doesn't shoot 20x/g. If Hibbert decided to forego the paint and shoot >10 mid-range J's a game, you better believe I'd be with you and not want him, either.

I like the RoLo/LMA tandem a lot. I still think that, different than say Wilson Chandler or Jeff Green, that Hibbert can be dominant in the right position. That ship has sailed, but that's how I feel.

Back to Wes, I don't think he's a max player, but he's close. And he's only available to make the 25% max as a player with only 6 years in the league. So roughly (maybe a bit less) than what Klay got (4/70M)

3RA1N1AC, it's not quite 25% b/c of how the league does their math, but if the cap is roughly 67.5-70M it'll be a starting salary of roughly 16-17.5M/yr. I don't think the big cap number kicks in until 2016 at the earliest. Then add in the 7.5% salary for us (or 4.5% for another team).

If LMA and Hibbert were on the same team their shooting % would both go up because both players would be facing single coverage. Rolo is great but he's not a consistent scoring threat so there are times a player can sag off of of him and help out on LMA. Couldn't do that with Hibbert.

Yes I would sign him to whatever he wants! I believe behind LA, and Dame , Wes is the most important blazer he is the spirit of this team , you can't make up team chemistry that he helps to bring ,
He is one of are best defenders and our best three point shooter! If you traded him , what player could you get to replace him that would be just as good our better that you wouldn't have to pay as well ? I believe this would be very costly to our team chemistry ! resign LA, Dame, and Wes to max deal , Robin to 9-12 mil per year and possible trade of Nic I would hate to lose him, he is one of my favorite players but I believe he plays out his contract and we let him walk!!! we hopefully trade well to make are bench better and keep the team as much as possible the same

If they can somehow keep nic I would try my best to make it happen

    3 for Lillard
    3 for LMA
    2 for Matthews
    1 for Batum
    1 for Rolo

10 1st round picks for our starters not including our own pick.

I really doubt he gets a 4/70 type offer but I guess we will see.

Josh Smith & Chandler Parsons got max money. Are they franchise players? Wes is better than those guys.

We'll be over the cap. No money to spend elsewhere.

you wouldn't need all of them to go...just the ones who are UFA and can leave for nothing. ;)

Paying Mathews the max might not be a big mistake. If you look at it as overpaying him 3m a year then its really only overpaying for next year because once the cap goes up like its expected in 2016 everyone will be underpaid

Lillard doesn't average 20+ assists a game and Batum sucks. THEY ALL MUST GO!

Stupidity by Detroit (who released him) and a max rookie deal (parsons) is hardly a max regular deal.

As I said, I think 12 mil is a great deal, but I wouldn't be pissed if it's 13-14 mil either.

So if the Knicks offer him a max deal (very possible) would you let him go? I wouldn't.

It all comes down to his value to the blazers. As with any negotiation you don't want to pay more than you HAVE to, but I think we will see how highly Portland values him.

Theoretically...it wouldn't be the blazers decision. He's a UFA. Its possible he could leave with similar offers. Highly unlikely though imo

I've said this over and over. But if we end up not wanting to pay him it's a giant mistake. His drive is amazing and I guarantee you he rubs off on some of the other guys. Great leader and locker room guy. So hard working.

I'd keep Wes and rolo (lma loves him) and try to move batum for a vet and picks if Paul doesn't want to pony up that much money to the starting lineup

I love Matthews and want to keep him no matter what the price but...

All these questions and scenarios don't mean a thing until after the playoffs. If the Blazers lose in the first round you don't bring everyone back. You have to make changes. If the Blazers lose in the WCF or Finals you pay what it takes to bring everyone back.

I'm not sure what to do if we lose in the 2nd round again. It's kind of a toss up.

Also I believe the Seahawks play a small part in this. If they win the Super Bowl again PA is going to be on a hell of a high. I think he'll be more likely to say fuck the salary cap with the Blazers in pursuit of a NBA championship.

Except Rolo is the player the team would benefit more by upgrading. With the fire power the Blazers have you need a 2nd distributor. You're not going to find a better distributor at the SF position than Batum. When you factor in cost it would be near impossible to replace Batum with a better or same player for less money. Any upgrades are going to cost max or near money.
