Kobe dominates more frequently than Garnett, but Garnett is the better overall player. He even plays smarter than Kobe at times, because Kobe tends to freelance and brick a lot of shots. I still can't believe my favorite team traded away Kareem Rush for Chris "The Bust" Jefferies.
Who's better KG or Kobe? Kobe's a better all around player (imo) but hard to pass up a 6' 11" player with insane handles that can shot from anywhere on the floor. But KG gets intimidated when he face stronger/bigger players notice he never tried to dunk on shaq or mail man in this series he just shot alot of js. Kobe doesn't back down from anyone. The only thing I'm sure of is KG is on vacation and Kobe is still playing.
Lakers got lucky with Shaq/Kobe not fouling out. The refs were blowing the whistle a lot though, all against the Lakers it seemed. In the first preview I said Kareem Rush will win us a game, did he not here? He is def. the player of the game going 6/7 on 3s, and the one he missed he was forced to shoot because of the shot clock. We wouldnt of won if it wasnt for him. Slava was also huge off of the bench going 4/4 in 7 minutes of play, and grabbing some key rebounds. All in all it was a good game, I think we could of played better, but Kareem Rush was huge. He will be a star in this league one day, he just needs to go to a team where he can have the chance to start <div class="quote_poster">Quoting DarkCloud:</div><div class="quote_post">Who's better KG or Kobe? He is a better all aroud player, he is the most clutch player in teh game, he has more passion for the game, he makes big shots. The only reason Kobe hasnt won an MVP yet is beacuse of how bad the Lakers did this year. Kobe has made his mark as the best player in the league. P.S. I will have the preview for game 1 of the Finals up as soon as I find out who is going from the East.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Kobe 8 Ball:</div><div class="quote_post"> The only reason Kobe hasnt won an MVP yet is beacuse of how bad the Lakers did this year. Kobe has made his mark as the best player in the league.</div> Kobe isn't even the M.V.P. of his team, much less the league.
guys, let's try not to turn this into another "who's better" dispute. Anyways, the game would have gone to game 7 without Kareem Rush or Krush's performance hitting 6/7 three pointers and somewhat good defense. Kg played his heart out in this game, but just wasn't enough.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting JLee348:</div><div class="quote_post">KG ain't jack without Sam and Spree.</div> The first NBA player to receive four Player of the Month honors in one season. I can't remember, but I believe the KG has stats that he shares with Bird and I believe Abdul-Jabbar (20ots - 10reb - 5asst) over 5 seasons. Something like that. Anyway, I can understand being a fan of your player, but don't throw accusations at how inept another player is without facts to back it up. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting JLee348:</div><div class="quote_post">You say Kobe couldn't win without Shaq and MJ did it alone? Are u stupid? MJ couldn't have won without Phil and Pip.</div> Are you comparing Pippen to Shaq!!??? If Jordan had Shaq, he probably would've had 10 rings and retired because it would bore him. Kenny and Charles made the point when they said he's great, BUT HE DOESN'T MAKE OTHERS AROUND HIM BETTER.
Yeah well you could also add Dennis Rodman to that supporting cast too Sabretooth. He was the best defensive player in the league, and snatched 15 boards a game for them. That does count for something too.
Why has this thread turned into a who's better thread. It's just a bad idea to compare players. They play in different situations and play different positions. They play different games, so it's very hard to compare them and see who's better. If they were playing under the same circumstances and in the situation, then that would be easier to see who's better. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting JLee348:</div><div class="quote_post">Took KG nine seasons to finally get out of the first round. He needed Sam and Spree to finally get out. KG only won MVP only cause of Sam and Spree. KG ain't jack without Sam and Spree. </div> Every player needs a supporting cast to be succesful. Everybody needs help to succeed. KG won MVP not because of Sam and Spree. He made Sam, he got his first all-star appearance this year playing with KG (a long overdue), and Spree play even better while improving his stats at the same time when some people thought his numbers would go down. Back to the game, the Lakers started the game playing very aggresively on defense and played with alot of energy which isn't their game. They lost their aggresivity and energy later in the game. Rush was the player that really hurt the Wolves shooting 6/6 from the 3pt line. The Lakers were in the penalty in the 3rd quarter, I think, and the Wolves took advantage of that by driving into the lane and going to the free-throw line but they didn't shoot that well in the game. The Wolves lost but I feel next year will be the year that the Wolves win their first championship.
Ahh what a game it was last night. Let the celebration begin as our Los Angeles Lakers return to the NBA Finals for the 4th time in five years. Where can I start?? I really felt in the opening quarter we came out and played with urgency, momentum, fire, and a ton of heart. We put the TWolves on their heels in the opening twelve minutes, and by the way it looked early, it looked to be a blowout. But we did see a lot of trouble in the second quarter. With Shaq and Kobe getting into foul trouble, and with the Lakers as a team collecting about 12 fouls, it got the TWolves back into the game, and the sellout crowd at Staples Center started getting very frustrated and started booing the Lakers unbelieveably. 48-46 at the half, and at that point in my mind, I started getting a bit anxious. At the start of the 3rd quarter, the TWolves played well early. They did all they could to make the game competitive, but the story tonight was Kareem Rush. 6/7 from the perimeter, kept knocking down shots with consistency, and with that left-handed stroke just firing from all cylinders, he could've gone perfect from the three all night, and he really took a ton of pressure off Shaq and Kobe having to carry the workload. We must not forget Kareem. Derek Fisher's 0.4 shot gave us a golden opportunity to KO the Spurs which we did to advance to the Western Conference Finals, and Kareem's 6/7 performance single handedly got us back to the NBA Finals. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to watch the Lakers hoist the Western Conference trophy due to my dad watching highlights on SportsCenter. But what matters is we're back in the Finals, we have four games remaining to win an NBA championship, and from here on out, I don't care how we win ballgames. As long as we can earn W's, that's all I care about. Laker fans, enjoy this moment. Because the best is yet to come. LA LAKERS 2004 WESTERN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS!!!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Emo:</div><div class="quote_post">Laker fans, enjoy this moment. Because the best is yet to come. </div> I Kinda Take it You are Really Excited about the Lakers-Pistons Series  LOL
Congrats to the Lakers. It was another nerve racking game after the Lakers blew an early lead and allowed the TWolves to actually take the lead on them. I was glad to see Rush have the confidence to knock down all of his 3pt shots and put the final dagger into the TWolves. I was impressed with how gracious the TWolves were after the game, especially their head coach. He showed a lot of class and didn't make any excuses for his team. He accepted the fact the Lakers are the better team. The TWolves had a great season and like the saying goes, "You have to learn how to win by losing." The TWolves will be back next year and have the ability to make it into the finals. They really missed not having Hudson and healthy Cassell against the Lakers. Hudson lit us up last year in the playoffs and he would have given the TWolves a lot of energy off the bench to nulify Fisher. I enjoyed each of the games and I hope these two teams can form a new rivalry out West.
