    Shaq should have focused more. Good thing Kobe is around to help. Nice game. I really liked the game. Great defense and Kobe back in da game like we know Kobe.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Chump:</div><div class="quote_post">Anyone see Gary Payton pouting cause his old "gloveless" ass wasn't playing in the 4th quarter. Very odd. Shaq and Kobe go to bench recieving high fives. And theres Gary brooding cause he's not playing anymore. I like the glove but D Fish plays better defense.</div>

    I was wondering why Phil benched him for the huge portions of the 4th quarter. But Gary can't complain at all. Fisher played very well off the bench for the Lakers, and it looks like he's slowly getting his shot back after hitting clutch threes from the baseline.

    Excellent game displayed by our Lakers last night. And the game balls go to no other than Karl Malone and Kobe Bryant. Karl Malone was aggressive on both sides of the ball, he shot the ball extrememly well from the field, and he was contributing in the rebound categories. His stats: 7/12 for 17 points. Solid effort. Kobe Bryant on the other hand, he didn't shoot all that great....(9-20) but he made a spectacular play by driving to the basket, and throwing the ball over his head and still converted for a three point play. He did everything he was supposed to do by penetrating to the hoop, keeping the Rockets defense on their heels, and most importantly keeping his teammates involved. 36 points last night. Excellent contribution and effort. Also, I can't forget about our role players off the bench. I'm talking about guys like Derek Fisher, Luke Walton, and Kareem Rush. Looks like Derek is getting his clutch shot back after hitting threes from the baseline, Luke earned his minutes by his excellent passing ability, playing decent low post defense (which is his weakness) and hitting a clutch three from the perimeter that once put the Lakers up by seven. And Kareem Rush..what can I say? The man was on fire off the bench, and when you scratch out Karl and Kobe, Rush was our X-factor. All you saw from his left-handed shot was the sweet sound of a swish. And he at times stretched the lead to double-digits, and it got Van Gundy frustrated, and it completely took Houston out of the game. Now the countdown sits at 14 to win a title, we're up 2-0 in the series with much needed rest at 3 days before we play Friday, and we're in a perfect position to fly to Houston and take at least one game, or better yet...sweep them. It's all up to them. If the Lakers are hungry enough, they'll eat soup with a fork and do everything they can to end this series quickly.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Phreeze:</div><div class="quote_post">lol did you hear those comments Van Gundy made about Kobe being a ball hog and that he should play more team ball after the game? Cracked me up because that's a pretty dumb question to ask the opposing team's coach.. What do you expect him to say "Yes Kobe played teriffic and should keep shooting and continue to destroy us"... lol ohwell we won and that's all that matters. The Rockets can cry all they want, their season has only two or three games left at most, complain while they can..</div>

    Van Gundy is such an idiot for that one. Why doesn't he worry about making adjustments for his team rather than criticize Kobe?? I really hope Kobe takes that to heart, and goes out there Friday night and completely picks apart the Rockets. See, this is why I love criticism. People talk trash to superstar athletes, but they always come out and back it up. This will probably be Van Gundy's fault for the Rockets losing this series. And when that happens....look for his bags to get worse, and watch for his hair to suddenly start falling out strand for strand.

    wow....when yao scores 21 points, shaq scores 7 and spends most the time on the bench...francis has a triple double, payton only has 6 points, the rockets win the rebound battle and STILL lose...man thats gotta be demoralizing

    I know Payton tweaked his back in Game 1, and I think Phil was just resting him, and besides D Fish was playing great, Kareem was playing Great, Kobe was phenominal...especially that amazing layup he had, I would love to see more games like this out of Kobe this offseason. I was shocked when the Rockets did not take advantage of the Lakers when Shaq got his fourth foul. Malone played a great game...its off to Houston and we WILL win one of those games up their.

    I'm back. [IMG]

    The loss had me on the verge of tears, but I remain confident of our team's abilities. I can promise you no sweep, that's guaranteed.

    So why didn't you cry because you guaranteed a Rockets win last night and you also betted that if your team lost, which they did, you'd put in a new sig saying how much your team sucks for five whole days. Let's see it.

    Yeah man, now I know how it feels to support a losing team and you can't do a thing about it. We're in the same boat now Rudeezy, except my team made the playoffs. [IMG]

    Yeah I kinda thought he sounded sarcastic... I only saw that one part of the interview and couldn't really tell, but I just read a quote from the Laker website right after what I saw, my bad lol

    Here's what he said after that:
    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"What's written and what I see is night and day. What I see is an unbelievable player who passes and competes every night. I don't know what everybody else is looking at. He was great tonight and he has been great all year."
    </div>

    My bad on that one [IMG]

    Great game by the Lakers. Though, I didn't see the last nine minutes of it cause it was past midnight and I wanted to go to bed cause I was falling asleep anyways, I saw most of it and it was great. They played good defense, especially the 3rd quarter. It was good seeing Kobe aggressive again, and the 17 FT attempts prove that. Overall, they played great as a team. They were passing the ball around a lot. Last I knew they had like, 23 assists on 26 fg makes or something like that. Great team play last night. Overall, great game played by them. Especially in the 3rd quarter.
