He's wicked fast who will put the D out of position and open up chances for his linemates. Agree he's not all that great but this speed and 2-way game is valuable on the 3rd line.

Funny when people say Hags isnt that good.

If we had 3 Hags on our 3rd line and Stepan, Cally were in game shape and Nash was healthy this team is light years better

The problem with this team is the following:

    1. There is still no PP QB
    2. They are learning a new system and have not head enough time to gel
    3. They dont have enough scoring depth - Even when healthy they have 2 4th lines - Good teams dont have Boyle and Pyatts playing on the 3rd lines
    4. No physical presence on the backline - Hopefully the Undertaker pans out at some point because this team needs it

I agree 100% dis. Especially with 1, 3, and 4. You nailed it. That is what we are missing still. We'll see if we can get that.

The reason I am optimistic is it shouldn't be that hard to get what we need.

The reason I am pessimistic is I am not sure Slats knows we need those changes.

Chuck, you're problem is you look at the meltdown of one player and ignore the meltdowns of the other 20 players on the team. You also ignore when MDZ plays 50 fantastic games a year and only concentrate on his bad games. Thus, why you're a typical NY fan. Negative. MDZ was good in the playoff series against Ottawa 2 years ago. He was great vs. the Caps in the next series. Maybe our best player in that series. He was awful vs. NJ in the conference finals. You however, only look at the NJ series because you're typical NY fan. Negative.

Last time I checked, the Rangers didn't give up 15 goals in 2 games because of MDZ. However, you specifically tried to blame him for those losses like you always do. Same crap, different year. My idea of moving MDZ now strictly has to do with the fact he's still in high demand in the league and this team needs a wing that can play on the first line.

Awesome post dump. Way off base per the norm, but awesome post. Let's examine.

I have never blamed the terrible performances so far this season solely on MDZ. As a matter of fact I went out of my way to say the whole team is playing ike trash. This is way bigger than just MDZ. So strike one.

I also said TIME AND TIME AGAIN that MDZ is up and down like a yo-yo. So what does that mean? It means sometimes he is UP and sometimes he is down. That is who he is. So I have said time and time again he has stretches where he plays well, no doubt. But he also has way too many stretches where he plays like a 19 year old rookie still. And the man cannot shoot. And the man is soft as charmin in the corners. And when he is down and bad, he is REAL BAD. So strike two dump.

Look dude I get it, you have been his biggest fan for years. You and I have gone back and forth on DZ for literally years now, so I understand why you have to take this same old stance you are taking and try to deflect the focus on me, I get it, but I think it is time you say you were simply way off on DZ and move on (I know it is difficult because you simply have very little ability to say I was wrong). Like I have said for years, let someone else wait for him to fully develop. Maybe in 3 years he will be a very good well rounded dman, it is possible, but let someone else take the chance. I am tired of seeing him here, and I think a lot of the fans agree with me now.

Straight out question for you...just answer yes or no dump: do you give MDZ a nice 3 year or so, 4 mill per or so, contract this summer? That is the question to you. Because that is what we have to do this summer if we keep him. So you think about that one and give me an honest answer there. I know which way I clearly go.
