Harttenstein has some good skills but isn't great with contact either. Think a more skilled Meyers Leonar_.

I can see that since Dame seem more like a 'leader by example' type than a vocal one. Last night was a good example of that. It took Shabazzle Dazzle to call the team out and quite correctly point out it took more than offense to win a game.

Kentucky has a 6'10", 250+ lb freshman named Bam Adebayo that might be the kind of player you're looking for. Perhaps a tad undersized though, he's young and may still have room to grow. Currently projected right around the Memphis pick.

If you really want a big body, Purdue center Isaac Haas is your man. Listed at 7'2" (7'0" barefoot), and around 300 lbs. Could you imagine putting Nurkic on the bench and bringing in someone even larger?

Plumlee always looked so small compared to every center we played against, he just did not have the body frame of a center. So it was sort of like when we upgraded from JJ Hickson at center to RoLo.

It's just a shame because Meyers, unlike some other bigs we've had, works very hard in the gym and has all the strength he needs to bang down low and be successful. Dude is ripped and outweighs a lot of centers he goes up against. Obviously it's a pipe dream to think his mentality will ever change at this point, but the ability is there.

Sad indeed. There's no reason why he shouldn't have a fade away jumper and a go to post move a la Marsha by now.

really have to wonder if the seriousness of his shoulder surgery and how another injury there could call his career into question is really messing with his head and making him shy away from contact to an extreme degree, not making excuses for him but just tryin to see if there is any possible explanation why he shys away from inside contact so much

"It feels great to play with those guys, especially CJ and Dame," Nurkic said. "They make my life easier. I really love to be here. The coaching staff has done a great job of putting me in position as to where I am supposed to be and my teammates are looking for me. This is the first time in two years I'm having fun."

I pretty much stopped reading the OT forum and was watching to see nurkic and the trade deadline. The team is actually interesting now.

You do realize that one of the reasons why Denver traded him is because he was sulking? Denver fans hate him because they felt that he had a bad attitude. I'm not sure I would make the leap that he's going to be the leader of this team.

I'm not sure we need Meyers to be playing on the low block. I like the idea of using him at PF while Nurk is playing C. Having Meyers floating around the 3-pt line while Nurk is posting up would work imo. The question is "can Meyers guard power forwards?" It will be interesting to see, but I think we should be a great defensive rebounding team.

    Honeymoon period.

    Haha.

Seriously, tho, he is now the only bright spot of this season. Can't wait to see him develop. We need to go all in to put the right coaches around him so he maximizes his talent this summer.
