The guy is a big douche bag, but it is very clear he spit @ the ground, not @ the camera.

Big deal? I don't blame him for being pissed after the no-call when he got pushed going for a header. That was blatant and right in front of the official. Should've been a penalty kick.

I agree. There were several people laughing at Ronaldo's 'diving' yesterday but I honestly didn't see him make one. He was very harshly judged for a couple of fouls.

If he spit on the ground, the title could use a little adjustment. ;]

He dove in every game leading up to this one and went over easily several times against Spain. He can't complain about the officiating because he is only getting the repercussions of being a player who likes to fool and embarrass referees.

The mega diva Ronaldo after Portugal's loss to Spain

Life is a hard road, a vale of tears, a dark wind rising, sound and fury, blues coming down like hail. And some days, your team loses in the World Cup! Describing himself as a "broken man" in the aftermath of Portugal's 1-0 loss to Spain, Cristiano Ronaldo has given a moderately amazing interview to the BBC in which the existential horror of the human condition appears to have dawned on him all at once:

"I feel a broken man, completely disconsolate, frustrated and an unimaginable sadness. ... I am a human being and like any human being I suffer and I have the right to suffer alone."

Where once the world was a riot of swimsuit models, all is now isolation and dread. Where once life could be greeted in a pink polo shirt with the collar popped, it can now be faced only through a pair of mirrored sunglasses in whose lenses the philosopher sees nothing but himself

I was actually surprised the portugal team cleaned up their cheating ways, to be fair ronaldo was pretty limited on offense, not much he could do. But I still stand by my words that he's "Overrated".

He's not overrated, he's just not a great team player.

I don't think he is overrated, either. I don't like him much but you can't deny his talent. I don't think Portugal utilized him well.

We're talking about a guy with 42, 26, and 33 goals in the last three club seasons but only 1, 1, and 1 goal in the last three national team seasons.

42 goals in England is just ridiculous.

EPL is overrated imo. Champions League shows it, La Liga and Serie A teams show that they can and will beat Premier League teams and it's not another level. Ronaldo scored 42 in England and then the numbers decreased as he went to Spain. I'm not saying Premier League is worse but people are really overrating it right now, EPL stars Ronaldo, Rooney and Drogba have been pretty bad in World Cup, they are not on another level.

Champions League from this season, yes.

In 2009, 2008, and 2007, there were three English teams in the semi-finals and there was an all-English final in 2008. We didn't play up to standard last season but I still believe the English league is the best league in Europe.

No doubt Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan, and all the other top teams can beat the Premier League but every team in England can beat anyone. Arsenal can lose to Stoke, United can lose to Burnley, Liverpool can be awful, Tottenham can be random. The title can be won by at least four different teams in England and that isn't matched anywhere else (apart from France last season, that was just crazy). The elite teams of England may not be as good as the other European giants but we still show our skill in the other tournaments (ie: Fulham reaching the Europa League finals while finishing seventh in the Premier League).

Also, I wasn't actually making an argument in the post you quoted. Scoring 42 goals in any league is an amazing feat

Its impressive really, but when you designate Ronaldo as your free kick taker, penalty taker, and striker, you're bound to score some goals, poor rooney just sat in the shadows that season. I still think that the prem is the toughest in the league. The reason why ronaldo did not score those 42 or anywhere near is because Real madrid have to many stars, they all want a piece of the cake, while in manchester he was a one man team, plus he also picked up injuries. I think he's good, but nowehere near a Ronaldhino, Zidane, Fat Ronaldo type of form.
