I've seen 4, thank you. It's been 10 years since 97. Winning 3/10 ain't bad.

Yet you had a guy named Shea, biggest asshole in the world.

And our payrole will shrink, you'll see, and we'll only have 4-5 FAs that get over 15million.

    Honestly, Shookem, way to bait.

I've seen two and I'll admit the Jays are about half the team with half the payroll of the Yanks. Shea was a fucking loser, nobody chanted MVP for him though. Troy Glaus is a loser and I hope he's not on the team next year.

It's easy to look good when you can throw money at a problem.

There is no such thing as baiting at s2.

Yes, that's why our 1st basemen suck. In the past, we threw money. Now we're using it to retain players. You'll see. When Joba, Phil, Ian, and Wang all stay, you'll be saying it's not fair because we're just throwing money. The fact that we have an economic advantage should not make us "evil"

And you're not evil for having video game promos of throwing at Alex? Wow, Yankees actually have class. If willingness to spend makes a team evil, then the Red Sox and Yankees are evil.

Yes, the Red Sox are also evil. The Jays wish the had enough money to be labelled as evil.

What kind of retarted statement is that?

All of Canada? Yeah because someone from Calgary is going to drive for four days to come and see a Jays game.

You have no idea what kind of country Canada is. The west doens't like Toronto, neither does the east. You'll find as many M's, Rox and Tigers fans in Canada asyou will Jays fans.

Their total market. I remember seeing a report where the Jays had the best opportunity for income. The Yankees have less of a market than Toronto.

Why is it considered evil for the Yankees to have the highest payroll? It's a catchy phrase the media loves using and has stuck with the franchise, but does it make sense?

The Yankees aren't cheating because MLB has no salary cap. They made the savvy business decisions to have more resources and money to spend on high profile free agents. How can you not admire an owner who's willing to sacrifice financial for more wins? Wouldn't it be better if more owners were this passionate about the franchises they ran?

If you want to call someone evil please direct it a lameduck franchise like the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. They're nothing but a glorified farm system for the rest of MLB. The owners spend the bare minimum on payroll and then profit off teams like the Yankees, Redsox etc. from the revenue sharing pool. They just want to fatten the wallet instead of fielding a winning team for their fan base. To me that is evil.

Canada really isn't as big as people think (population-wise). New York alone has 60% of the total population of Canada. Then the Yankees draw local fans from New Jersey, Conn. and Rhode Island.

YES has coverage in many other regions too. Revenue generated from attendance comes no where close to what opening your own cable station on multiple carriers, with many out of market carriers. Since most teams don't have their own network, they have to rely on attendance and concession.

You're correct. They also carry Nets games. YES was an incredible buisness move, and it makes me wonder why more teams haven't made their own channel.

Well, the Jays do have their own network but aside from that, it's Canada, baseball just isn't as big as it is in the states. Sports in general aren't as important in Canada as they are in the states.

If the Yanks and Rox win with their bloated payrolls, well I guess the argument can be made. But every season that those teams spend like they do and do not win it all, what's the point?

Your argument will be null in a few years. Money'll be used to retain players, not buy players.
