At least you're admitting you don't have any idea about Romney's tax plan proposal. Interesting that you bash it even though you know nothing about it.

I wasn't bashing Rmoney's tax plan proposal, apparently.

Is there some reason I should care about Romney's tax proposal? It will be irrelevant in just a couple of weeks.

True. You were bashing what you thought was Romney's tax proposal. Probably even more ridiculous.

Well, it is election season. You should know about both candidates' policies and ideas on major issues, unless you admit that you're one of the common sheep.

You thought you were bashing Romney's capital gains proposal. Until it turned out your were wrong, of course.

In 2010. He can recover the remainder in future years, according to my link.

I'm sure he doesn't need the loss/deduction in any future year.

I'm sure he doesn't need it, I'm sure he will take it anyway.

Sure. Like you use the coupons in the newspaper to buy cat food when you have a dog to feed.

In other words, if he needed or wanted to take it, he already would have.

Just like Obama took his deductions.

What's funny is how you are trying to bash Romney for a plan that you know nothing about. Then, when confronted with your ignorance, you say it won't matter, because he won't win.

Basically, you're voting for Obama out of ignorance, and you just admitted it. No surprise here, after being a target of years of your act.

You didn't read the background material very carefully. He couldn't take it this year, but it rolls over and he will be able to take it in future years.

Last time I ever listen to maxiep. Sheesh.

You have a problem with the truth?

Nah. I'm voting for Obama for lots of reasons, Romney's tax plan isn't really all that important to the decision. But yes, I admit I am not any more familiar with Romney's tax plan than maxiep is.

You assume he wanted to take it this year but couldn't. I assume he did a nice thing for partners who managed the stables and took care of the horse by paying for $77K worth of expenses and staying hands off in terms of managing. The hands off part made the investment and expenses a passive one. For it to not be a passive one, all he had to do was take part in weekly or monthly meetings and talk about management issues. And then he could have written the whole amount off.

I did read the material. And I have run into the passive activity tax issues before ;)

I feel the Romeny/Ryan ticket is good at implying things without stating their direct opinion. This is another case where he could imply capital gains is eliminated for those who make under $200k without saying the words "only up to." His statement would still hold true if he eliminated ALL capital gains taxes.

Disclaimer: I was skimming for a response and didn't see one, so perhaps it's already been said.

This seems like grasping at straws just because you don't like Romney. I believe in the debate he said "only" for those making less than $200k.

Nobody on this board will pay less taxes under an implemented Romney tax plan. You'd be an absolute fool to believe otherwise.

Good. We all need to pay more, including Romney. Or else start slashing shit left and right. But since neither will do that...

Yes, it is grasping at straws, but I do not put it past his team to mislead without lying. Please excuse my bias.

    HA!

Obama promised in his 2008 debates to not raise any tax, of any kind, on somebody making less than $200k. That didn't turn out to be true.

So even if Romney is lying, I have less reason to trust Obama on the issue since we already know he lies about this issue.
