Found this new article on Freeland, thought it might be relevant because we've just been discussing him. Sounds like he's doing well overseas. http://basketball.realgm.com/article/211620/Europe_Interview_Joel_Freeland_Of_Unicaja_Malaga
actually, last report was that he's working out with Tim Grover. But I noticed this quote: Not "win a ring" or "get back to All-Star level" or even "contribute on the court"...."sign a new contract".
Do you have any kind of link for that? I was listen to a radio show a couple months back and I think it was Doug Gottlieb that mentioned that he saw Eddy Curry and he was nearly 400lbs.
Limited choices. First priority will be Greg Oden. Second may be a 3-yr (standard first round rookie deal) to Joel Freeland for part of the MLE. Third....you got me!! I'd love to throw an offer to Gasol at Grizz, for multiple reasons.
Still holding out hope for GO but I sure would love me some DeAndre Jordan next year - but I don't think he's going anywhere. After that, I'm all for phucking with Memphis for their Darius antics.
Nene is an unrestricted free agent this summer, I say we cut our losses with greg and throw as much money as we can at Nene.
We can match any offer for Greg, we have no chance of getting Nene since he is much more than an MLE players. Travis Outlaw signed for the MLE, Nene will get double that. The only chance for the Blazers to sign guys like Nene or Marc Gasol is if the CBA is drastically redesigned in a way to give the Blazers cap room. That seems extremely unlikely. I suppose one could hope there is some amnesty for existing contracts, so the Blazers could cut Roy for salary cap purposes, then have a hard cap that the Blazers could get under. We would probably have to cut Andre and Camby to sign a big name free agent like Nene, which I would be for, but if we also had to cut Greg it becomes mroe of a lateral move than an addition.
Hi.. If such a place exsisted in my area and I could afford the services. I would totally go. Centers
