well i do not know if this counts but I would have to say Michael Ray richardson. People (even he) said that he could have been better than Magic as he had all the talent in the world, but being in New York, the "nicest guy" label wore off as he was decieved by ladies and drugs. First season he was mediocre, next next season he plays like an MVP, 3 seasons in row he struggled on court due to drugs and then he gets banned.
Demitrius'Hook'Mitchell the 5'something 38 year old man that jumps over cars and dunks. Hook could have been one of the NBA's greatest small guys to ever play. Drugs and stuff like that took it all away from him.

From what past friends have told me and one of my dads friends, he had all the talent to have maybe become the best player ever. Too bad...
shawn kemp. the drugs, the food, the drugs, the attitude, the drugs ralph sampson. the fall, 7'4" KG basically. athletic freak, 7'4" + 36" vert. grace/skill set of a sg. if not for the fall. robert horry. amazing hands, steal waiting to happen, couldve been a bigger pippen. one of the most creative post passers, wasted his career on the 3 pt line, once openly stated that he was just a paycheck player.
