Yeah, an he had some of the best offensive production in the league during pre-season and was still getting roasted here. He's generally produced when he gets minutes, but many are too blinded by prejudice to recognize the improvement.

It’s not prejudice. It’s 5+ years of results. It’s also the off the court stuff. The guy is annoying in my opinion.

Would you like me to elaborate? No on second thought. Go look it up and try to peel away the hate.

I wrote him off when he looked like Alice falling down the rabbit hole into Wonderland while playing defense. Completely lost and out of position.

So, you admit it's based on history, not on his play this year?

You agreed with me. I was making a sarcastic comment at calvin natt's expense.

He’s played 80 mins this year. He’s not going to end up shooting 50% from 3. He won’t shoot 66% from the field. He scored 17 his last game which is great and such a big deal he had to post a pic of himself giving a big ROARRRR about it. He’s a tool.

The tool would be the person saying ML obviously sucks if you watch him play, then justifies it by saying: a) his good play this year is not sustainable, and b) the opinion is based on previous years. I guess you have to watch old footage to see how bad he is and why he should be booed currently?

In the same vain, why are we cheering for such a small sample size when the bigger sample size is more representative? It works both ways.

To be fair, Meyers looks decent out there most of the time this season.

Because the smaller sample size is more representative of his current level of play.

Players get better and players get worse. Meyers improved production seems to correlate with the work he put in over the summer.

Is his current level of production sustainable? Not likely. He probably won't go an entire season with a 21.3 PER, scoring 20.3 points per 36 with a .696 TS%. Not many players are capable of putting up those kind of numbers over an entire 82 game NBA season.

So, what if he tapers off to PER = 15, points per 36 = 14 and TS% = .600? That's still significant improvement, and improvement is a good thing, even if it's just going from bad to average.

I don't personally boo our own players, but if the fans insist on booing someone, it should be the guy who has gone from average to bad, who isn't putting in any effort and had been a complete no show since opening night. If you're going to boo someone, at lest boo the guy who isn't even trying, not the guy who is.

So, he's a tool because he shows emotion when he does something good?

What's that make the guy who makes more money, but doesn't put forth any effort at all?

I find Mo Harkless' complete lack of effort much more offensive than Meyers' posturing and roaring.

I wish Mo would do something roar worthy, but that would require actual effort. Something he appears incapable of doing. He's sleepwalking through this entire season, and to me, that makes him a MUCH bigger tool than Meyers Leonard, or anyone else on this team.

    Yeah, no.

    This.

Strenuus, if you're gonna go "liking" all the posts disparaging Meyers, you have to realize the irrational hatred is pretty transparent when you then respond with weak ass stuff like that.

He simply doesn't like Meyers. i have seen this on multiple boards. Doesn't matter that the guy worked hard all summer and his game as improved. It's too little too late in their mind. They are DONE with him. No room for improvement and there will never be a change.

    It’s not hatred
The annoyance is far far from irrational. If someone can’t see it, fine, but you can’t convince me he’s a good player who isn’t annoying as shit. Because to me he is.

Being annoying has no affect on his basketball skills. Being 'annoyed' is an emotional response, which is usually accompanied by being irrational.
