Well, so much for the theory that playing Meyers would hurt his trade value. After going 4-4 and scoring 8 points in 5 minutes, he raised his PER from 19.6 to 21.1! Sell high Neil, sell high!!! BNM
I always wondered who swish3 was in the real world....strangely hasn't posted since Meyers has been DNP status
Not that that guy would have a vested interest in spinning his production. either that or he knows how fragile Meyers ego is, and had to fluff him there.
How many teams are under the salary floor? One of those teams could trade for him and then use the stretch provision to spread out the rest of his contract. CHI has a large enough trade exception to absorb his contract. If we traded Meyers + a protected future first to them for a future 2nd, they might bite. No player is untradeable. While Meyers' contract is bad, there are far worse contracts, some that have been traded recently. BNM
Depends on the tax situation. We have until the last day of the season to get under the tax threshold. I think Neil will do something before the trade deadline to get us under the threshold. Moving Meyers contract is one option. I said a protected 1st round pick. It can be heavily protected, something like top 25 protected in 2018 and 2019 converting to a 2nd round pick in 2020 - maybe giving the Bulls the option to swap second rounders in 2020. We'd basically be offering them a small incentive for taking Meyers' contract off our hands. BNM
