What exactly do we need in a new arena that couldn't be added to the Moda?

I would do the following based on the color codes below:

    1) Take the orange max lines and elevate them in that section.

2)In the red section is the max stop for all directions with a platform that continues along the green colors until it meets with the elevation of the moda. Posisbly dropping down to Drexler street, but the East side would likely meet right up to the level of the fire pit, etc, or can be made to be.

    3) create a covered, Vegas Fremont Street style roof over Center ct road. The full length.

    4) in the blue section, create a food court(carts?)/lounge area, possibly stage for bands/entertainment.

    5) where the medical facility is, renovate that to be larger, so the bottom section all the way around can be filled with bars and restaurants.

I think if the max is elevated in that area, it significantly helps the flow of traffic.

Fuck the All Star game, and fuck the Olympics. Well, Olympic basketball, anyway. Silly games, played with silly rules, on silly courts, and (in the Olympics) with a silly ball.

They need to bulldoze the MC - one of the most worthless buildings in all of downtown.

I've been to Boston where they have 300 year old buildings with rooms the revolution started in. Or Europe where the buildings are thousands of years old. Stupid that people talk about the MC being some "historic" site we should keep as though it's similar to any of those.

Yeah, the Coliseum needs to be torn down...but I don't remember seeing where gutting the RG was part of the deal with the new ownership group.

I don't remember anything about how historic the MC was? I thought it had to do with the fact that it is a war memorial (or apparently has a war memorial in the basement)?

I thought Adam Silver said that the Blazers would either need a new arena or major renovations done to the Moda Center?

It was the "design" being unique.

Major renovations does not equal gutting.

It's a fucking cube. It's the most basic design imaginable... How can they make that argument with a straight face?!?

*Granted, it is loud as hell*
