I think we will find out once Howard decides where he's going

What if we were able to get Jarrett Jack? Wouldn't that be kind of awesome?

I don't think Jack would take 3.5 million/yr to come here and be a 3rd stringer. Would be nice though, I guess.

We have 4.5 mil available; plus we could stretch freeland out and offer another 1.5

Darren collison would be optimal, but I think he can get more PT elsewhere. I like Keyon Dooling (defensively), DJ Augustin (as a distributor), and Will Bynum (as a scoring point).

According to Brian we have 3.5.

Even at 4.5, do you think Jack would come here for less than he earned last year, considering the season he had?

Very Good Summary. In line with the War Room Photo, I think of it more like this though:

    Lillard/McCollum/////xxx
    Wes/McCollum/////Crabbe/Barton
    Nic/xxx
    LMA/TRob//////Claver
    RoLo/Leonard///////Withey/Freeland

where the tentative rotation players are to the left of the /////s

It's kind of a big deal because as I see it we want a rotation player with the cap space.

This seems to glue Freeland to the bench forever...

Well Withey is gone. Freeland to the rescue?

I don't know. I just don't see him as very valuable for a team to spend more than the MLE on, if even that.

Well when players like splitter or Jefferson are getting their money; it's a crazy market

Disagree. He's too puny. We need a big PG because both McCollum and Lillard will play off the ball. Shaun Livingston! Julyan Stone would've also been good, but the Raps signed him.

I like the idea of livingston but didn't watch him play at all last year. If Livingston can run the offense when Lillards out then hell yea sign him

Disagree. I think we need a journey who won't get minutes, but will mentor McCollum. A second coming of Ronnie Price type. We don't want someone who'll be pissy about their 3rd string role.

If I thought we were tanking, then I'd be fine with McCollum as our backup PG. (Like what Abbott said about the Magic trying Oladipo at PG - "sneaky tanking".) But if we're trying to please Aldridge, then we need an actual PG. Who wouldn't be "third string" but would be like Maynor. Or he could even start alongside Lillard.

Explain your question. Do you mean highly-touted Euro PG whose NBA coach doesn't give minutes to and who sulks back to Europe after a year? Or do you mean like Pablo Prigioni, who comes cheap and turns out to be really good (just like I always said he would)?

If you mean the latter, it's probably Gal Mekel, who's already been signed by Dallas.

    Here's a good guide.

Sorry man, but I still see Freeland glued to the bench.

I meant the latter, now that we don't have McScribbles. Thanks. ;)

I would clearly plug Wes in as the back up SF as well as the starting SG. He will need minutes there if we are going to give McCollum and Crabbe/Barton any at SG. He is more of a back up SF then McCollum is a back up PG.

    We need a 2nd PG.
