I was somewhat bashing Vecsey there.

My preference would be he goes to the Knicks to join the other great coach fired by Reinsdorf. It seems like it has all the things he'd want in a job: GM who gets it, excellent ownership, big city, attract big name FAs. Plus it would stick it to The Chairman.

I've read several places his preference is a big city.

That he isn't interested in the open jobs supports this.

Orlando is willing to pay him and give him the GM job, basically. Their roster has huge potential and he would surely make them a top team.

Denver has never really been linked to him as a possibility.

New Orleans is a small town with an elite player who may or may not bolt. Thibs already coached for a team that acted like it was a small market team. I don't think he wants more of the same.

LA and NY are at the very beginning of rebuilding. Those are situations he can mold teams fully in his vision.

OK I can see that. Orlando does seem like a good situation but the city might not fit his personality. Although it wouldn't surprise me if he just wanted to take the year off and re energize while figuring things out. He needs that IMO. But I can see where he might not want a laid back atmosphere since he is not a laid back guy......

There's that and then there's the salary he'd make if he took a job coaching this season.

From what I've seen, he might make $1M as a TV analyst on top of his $4.xM from the Bulls.

If he took a job this year, he'd likely make $9M, maybe more.

Nuggets management fired George Karl for being mouthy to them, so why would they hire someone who was just fired for the same reason.
