I would do a pick to get Thibs.

Thibs might be intrigues to come to Portland, but I'm not sure Stotts is going anywhere.

What Thibs likely won't do is choose an organization that is shady and dysfunctional like the Bulls. Been there, done that.

I've not seen that the Blazers organization is anything but excellent.

You would do a comb to get him.

But seriously, can Thibodeaux really make a defender out of Monroe? Then we better get a better defensive coach.

I wouldn't want Thibs as a coach. He wears his players out and by the second round of the playoffs their just completely and totally exhausted. We've seen Deng and Noah totally break down when they turn 30 because he rides them so hard. Its not a coincidence seemingly every year his teams are dealing with major injuries. It makes for great regular season defense and squeezing the most out of fringe NBA players. Thats just not how I want my team run. He's basically the anti-Popovich. If Duncan had played under him his whole career would he have had to retire in his early 30's? Garnett is actually a year younger than Duncan but has been washed up since his final year in Boston. Just as a fan of basketball I hope the Pelicans don't get him because I want to enjoy Anthony Davis career for a long time.

Didn't Deng have his best season in the past 5 years last year?

His problem is he injured his wrist several seasons ago and refused to have the recommended surgery. He also played International ball for Great Britain, even when he should have at least rested his injury some.

Noah has played 70+ games 3 times in his career. Two of the past three seasons (the two prior to this), he's played all the games but a couple.

Thibs would be the Blazers perfect assistant coach next to Stotts. He'd get control of the defense and wouldn't be able to run players into the ground. To bad it won't happen...

I wouldn't go worrying about Thibs running our players into the ground when Stotts is doing just fine on his own. Of the Top 10 players in MPG, three (THREE!) of them are Blazers. We make up 30% of the Top 10! No other team has more than one player in the Top 10.

Sounds like another small forward that we know who likes to play international ball every summer.

Sure. But you can't blame Thibs for running him into the ground, considering he needs surgery and he plays international ball.

I don't blame Thibs. I think injuries happen. I don't think Nate McMillan was especially tough on Brandon Roy, and look how that turned out. I don't think Rose's injury is in any way a reflection on Thibs, nor was Deng.

Rose hurt his knee late in a game that the Bulls were winning handily. Some say Thibs should have pulled him to prevent injury. But the game might have been close and he got hurt. Or in practice.

    Or taking a shower.

I think you're looking at postseason numbers. For the regular season, ESPN had us with #8 (Dame), #12 (LA), and then #31 (Wes) and #34 (Nic). Cleveland had #3 & #5, HOU had #2 & #8, LAC had #14, #17, & #21. Still a bit higher than it should be, but not ridiculous like last year.

Ah, thanks! I forgot that ESPN stats default to the POs, rather than regular season.

Thibs just doesn't remind me of an LA kinda guy. He's more meat and potatoes.
