Perhaps you are right, but I liked it. Besides, I did not put ditty there.

    This is an interesting phrase.

What are some of indicators or cues that trigger your concern?

Depends on how you mean the question. I'll interpret it to mean that you didn't understand why I wrote those words.

It's a modification of a 'quote' from Friedrich Neitzche, with the phrase 'the abyss' replaced by 'Canada'.

Quote is in quotation marks because he wrote in German, not English.

Single quote marks rather than double because that's how I roll, usually.

Im just about done with the book "Imperial Cruise" and wow, they never taught this in my schools.
I know the book has been a bit controversial with some historians taking acceptation to some of the comments about TR & Taft, their conquest to civilize the east, by following the sun. The race to grab land and civilize certain races and cultures. It's amazing how TR set the table for WW2.

If you read the book I'd be interested in your take?
    Thanks

You asked a question. You could start by listening.

Just because you don't agree with what he said doesn't mean it's not true. And you know what? It's 100% true that this country has systematically oppressed people of color.

Look up what happened to Black Wall street in Tulsa OK. Actually do it. I'll wait....

If everyone started first by listening and caring, things might just fall into place when it comes to cleansing our country of racism.

But instead you're too busy calling people whiners when they answer your OP.

Racism really, honestly, starts with white people becoming interpreters for their own.

    Fix your system of oppression.

I think we're mostly referring to American racism.

Why though....when American racism includes racism against Mexican nationals, Iranians, etc..?..it's not exclusive to citizens in America nor ever has been...that's why I think to have the conversation you have to be all inclusive. Racism is directed at many people who just don't speak English in public while in the US....it's all part of the conversation. My son experienced it when he accidentally spoke Mandarin in 4th grade here in Oregon and was bullied for it ...he didn't speak Mandarin at all for many years after locals made him embarrassed about it. It was his first year here in public school...it's a world issue. America is part of it but by no means all of it

It's simply "white vs brown". Russia is even more racist than we are.

I think since we have a racist president most of us are concerned with him.

People have selective areas of concern...I look at the big picture..I see it as a human problem with human concerns. I think it exists everywhere on the planet period.

Fair enough. But when talking about remedying the situation I think it must start in the melting pot of America.

I as a human being am *this close* to being actively legislated against by the current administration; it's only been the barest of margins that have kept my rights, rights all of you lot have, from being legally curtailed.

So yes, I have concerns about American Systems of Oppression, and thus I have a focus on the same.

Well for you and I that is the case but as I say, leading by example and living inclusively starts in everyone's home, workplace, etc..we just happen to live here...I have family in four countries and it applies there as well.

I did! I find the devil has no part in this subject. But if you do, you may feel free to explain it.

Besides, I don't think American Racism is a valid observation. Slavery or Racism did not begin in America. It was in full swing
When the Whites and Blacks first came here. The Slavery ended more than 150 years ago, most of the white people and their progenitors came here since then. There were never much more than 1 million slave owners in this country and some of the biggest were not even white. History now. So what perpetuates this Racism among these new comers? You call racist more than most in this forum. I doubt you find the devil has a hand in this game, unless of course you are one of those that believe the white man is the devil. More than a few do.
