I'll agree with you here it's actually kind of entertaining, CJ's the worst, he's terrible, he's overpaid, but yet these other teams will give us stars for him. Like we're the only ones who have advanced analytics... If CJ is as bad as this board makes him out to be the chance you get Blake, Love, LMA, Green, Heck maybe even Gallinari is pretty low since his contract is so long no one's trading for him unless they think they can build a winner around him.

CJ proved himself in the playoffs. This board is all about "only the playoffs matter". And then when a guy does it in the playoffs, he ain't worth a shit. In game 7 vs. Denver he was playing as well as anyone on the planet. In fact, that whole series he was great. Yes, who doesn't get frustrated when a scorer isn't scoring, but teams know he is a threat and act accordingly. The chances of CJ being shopped around, I would think, are small.

    really speaks to recency bias.

CJ can take the blazers as far in the playoffs as they’ve been in 2 decades, with classic playoff performances in 7 western-semi final games AND STILL this forum will turn on him for a few mediocre regular season games to start a season.

Also, while everyone is always so certain we can get a “better fit,” look at how bad some of these trades on the OP aged in this thread from 2017... Tim Hardaway Junior for CJ straight up. Reddick for CJ straight up... We better not throw away arguably the most consistent playoff performer we’ve had in 2 decades for the equivalent of JJ Redick...

Wish we could somehow get Jrue Holiday.

The blazers are tanking this year. CJ and Zach were told the plan; Dame and Ant were not.

It's all going exactly as intended.

Just a reminder, this was CJ in the playoffs compared to a permanent MVP candidate.
I watched those Rockets games and Harden bricked more shots and did more selfish plays than this board can ever tolerate.

The real question to answer first first is whether there is any chance at all our GM would even consider trading CJ? and remember he just extended CJ this past summer

There is actually no comparison in these stats. Harden was much more efficient on higher volume and also contributed more in other areas. All this in less minutes. Harden got 3x the steals CJ had in less minutes for christ sakes.

Why are you using this comparison? It doesn't make CJ look good at all. By PER (which is more of an amalgamation of box score stats), Harden had a 25 PER and CJ had 17. There is a mile difference there.

Not to mention CJ had better shooting from both 3 and 3 pt range?

People that cite raw shooting percentages without looking at true shooting....what are you doing? I know TS% is cited a lot as an "advanced" stat, but there is truly nothing advanced about it. It's basic math. Harden 57% vs Cj 53%. If the end goal is scoring efficiency Harden is more efficient on higher usage, and it's not very close.

Honestly i was just messing with you. I understand your response and i agree to a point. CJ is not the first option on this team. He also is not much of a playmaker other than for himself.

CJ is shooting 25/73 from the field and 3/18 from 3pt in our 4 game losing streak

Really not unusual for C.J. to slump normally the team is able to find a way to play through it unfortunately we have no chemistry right now. It’s a long season he’ll get better. With three starters out tough to win in this league

What is the best offer we could get for CJ? Less than most Blazer fans think!

Too many Blazer fans see his flaws, but then expect other teams to ignore them and over-pay for him.

CJ 4-19, 8 points, 0 assists. Against an average team. At home. In a game the blazers really, really needed to win. What is wrong with him??

What can we get for cj and whiteside? Otto porter jr.

play anfernee and little and let them develop.
As soon as we can, trade cj Nd whiteside and whatever picks it takes for otto porter jr. and a salary filler or something.
    Next year:

    dame
    Simons
    Porter jr
    Collins
    Nurk

CJ has more trade value than OPJ. I also don't see Chicago wanting another guard.
