The inside out game will make a comeback. Players hitting three's like crazy AND big's killin it down low at the same time. Blazers unstopable in 2019!
Next question: if length and "switchability" are the next trend, or at least one that we should pursue, who are the unheralded players in the league that the Blazers should target to that end, and who is coming up in the next draft who also fits that bill? Looking at a mock draft, Mikal Bridges and Jarrett Vanderbilt are a couple wings that seem to fit that paradigm. Obviously any of the top-5 picks as well, but we've got no chance at that. Hamadou Diallo, but I'm not really a fan of his game. Anyone else?
Does Hollywood Robinson have any game left? Seriously, what you're asking is the often underappreciated reason that Wade is so damn good on defense. Length without sacrificing mobility is lethal. We had it at PF most of Duncan's career (and hopefully have it again going forward with Collins), making us one of the tougher opponents for the Spurs. If you can make Duncan work with that positional advantage, you know how effective it will be elsewhere on the court.
You cant add him to a list that is of long armed players that have the speed to play D? Oooooakkyyy....
I'm gonna die on Anunoby Hill. Smh, can't believe we passed on a corner three shooting 6'9 (and growing) dude with unbelievable athleticism and foot speed. Edit: and before people point out that OG went 23rd, I should point that we could have drafted John Collins 15th, and OG 20th, and we'd still have the 26th (Kuzma anyone?). Tell me that's worse than what we ended up with.
Bro... is there nothing fans can complain about?! So going down by 20 to teams less talented AND missing their star player game after game is not justification to be unhappy with the product??? Just keep our mouths shut and be happy?! You talk about the negativity in here... is it not justified? We are probably the most underachieving team in NBA...
But seriously folks, I hope it's actual fundamental basketball. Good defense with mixed schemes that force turnovers and result in layups and dunks. More 2 pointers. Take a fucking layup or close range shot instead of passing to the 3 point line. More feeding the post. I need the great S2 minds to help with the math but I'm pretty sure that two 2 pointers beats a 3. And.........PASSING. More passing than dribbling. I'm sick of watching one-on-one dribblefests and giving up the ball to crappy shooters at the end of the shot clock. Homer Auerbach
You thought this team would win 60 games? Fuck you talking about "less talented" teams? We are a .500 team.....right where we are supposed to be. I never said people can't complain or be unhappy. Thats not whats happening here on the daily.
I think you are seeing the trend in Philly and Milwaukee......long athletic players that can do a little of everything.
anyone angry about being the sparring partners of the NBA hasn't been a Blazer fan for very long....there's always a narrative to enjoy somehow as a fan...y'know....ET made 3 jumpers in a row! We had more assists than turnovers...that kind of shit
Yes, because I believe they have the talent to win 60 games... they are just not playing the right way, hence my disappointment and negativity... I wasnt trying to insult you. Isn’t the forum a place to discuss good and bad? Since the play has been atrocious this year, what do you expect?
I looked at the roster in camp and saw the moves our in division teams made and planned on us winning 40-42 games (and got blasted for this on here) Definitely NOT 50s or 60s territory. I also looked at my son and didn't assume he would make the NFL or NBA and have enjoyed every minute watching him grow up playing sports. #RealisticExpectaionsFAMS
