Wayne has his moments to me....you can check Dedication 2, Tha Carter II, Tha Carter I. It seems like people on this site haven't even heard most of dudes work. I'm not going to say he is greatest, but I take his music for what it is, clever lines, and even some constructive songs here and there. I'm sure a lot of people here his singles and are turned off from his music in the first place.

    Santana would murk Wayne

Of course mine is, but is your career on JBB better than Juelz?

Didn't you just pickup that 5-year old album a few weeks ago?

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">What Wayne songs have you heard anyway? Out of curiosity. You actually picked up an album or listened to singles?</div>
A few of my friends listen to Lil' Wayne and play his music, so I'm forced to listen to it if I'm in the room. I also turn on BET occasionally, so I've heard a substantial amount of his music, unfortunately. Anyway, Santana makes better songs than Lil' Wayne.

Does it matter when I picked it up? I still picked it up, and I listen to it.

    BET= singles, just like I said. I highly doubt you've heard ****.

Mine is better than his and yours. You want me to prove it and I will....set it up. (<--- I don't come at people sideways)

I understand....your just mad cause Wayne is stylin on you and anybody out of Harlem right now.

    All I know is this:
When I got Juelz Santana From Me To U I listened to it QUITE A BIT. SO therefore in my opinion it is good. I was looking at some of the lyrics and yeah they are not very good, but I listened to that album quite a few times. Lil Wayne I have listened to most of his tracks ONCE - once was enough.... again to me has a weak voice, by that I mean, he probably needs to have his voice multi-tracked to give it any sort of presence, and his rhymes I just do not understand at all, not to mention his timing seems off and his beats sound like crap. Maybe he is a lyrical genius under all that but he hasn't had the right venue to showcase his skills in that case.
And New York has some rappers that I hate - Cassidy, 50 Cent and the new Mobb Deep stuff is painful to listen to.
It's sad how few good rappers there are out there.
Even Common's last album I think was just okay. And if I never hear Kanye West's voice on a track again in my life I will be great with it.
I was listening to the Makaveli album today - timeless....I think I'll stick with that.

Kanye West minus his post fame ego is good.....College Drop Out is a classic in my eyes.

Also theres a reason why Wayne is on every Dipset album thats made these days, they know whats up.

One more thing, Joe Budden is the best Northern artists I have heard in a while. He's better than anyone out of NYC right now.

What makes a rapper good? Flow, lyrics, what else?</div>
To album companies, the ability to sell records.
To some people to make nice rhymes and flow.
To other people to make good happy birthday songs.
To other people to rap about wanting to kill your mother and your wife.
To other people to have a feud with another rapper, and rap about your feud.

Being real and rapping of the real things. Not like 50 Cent etc. ayyy we gon sip bacardi im a gunit toy soldier uuuuhhhh.

    And ofcourse lyrics, flow, beat.

My opinion: South songs have the best beats, the best lyrics are usually from the Eastcoast MC's (especially NAS).

Jadakiss is considered by a LOT of people to be the best MC in the game right now. I hear it a lot from people that I talk to.

Their lying to you. Jada doesn't even put out enough material to be the best in the game right now.

    Nas>Jadakiss

Fab was ok, he kinda fell off as well. Guess who is on his newest song? (JBBS favorite rapper)....

    Early-to-Mid 90's Rap >>> Modern Rap

(although that's kind of common knowledge)</div>
    Hate generalizations like that.

I loved early 90's rap, but there's just as much good stuff out there right now if you look for it. If you were to say early 90's mainstream>>>today's mainstream, then I'd agree 100%.

On the other stuff, I'm real picky with mainstream, but I do think Fabolous is nice. Jada is decent, but nothing special.

On the Juelz - Wayne topic, Wayne >>> Juelz. They both are pretty horrible, but Juelz (or Dipset in general) is as bad as it gets right now.

As far as what makes a rapper good, to me it's the content and delivery of the lyrics, as well as creativity and subject matter. I think flow is overrated, because anybody could flow over a beat without actually saying something. Image means nothing to me since most of the rappers I listen to don't even have videos or get any publicity whatsoever.

Yeah i was thinking about this today... I love his lyrics, beats, just his style in general, but the only thing i dont like is how cocky he is, and the size his ego swelled too.
Oh and OT, but On those sites like albumbase, can you only dl one album per hour or something like that?
