Strange... I'm empathetic to what Mullin has to work with, but at the same time his '04 and '05 signings were not planned very well... and that makes me super pissed. Plus, he didn't have the real experience to run this position, nor does he have the understanding of financials or the courage to tell agents, "Hell no we're not paying Foyle that!" But he jumped on Foyle pretty quickly and same with Dunleavy... Arguably two of our most inconsistent players next to Pietrus and those two start for us. They're supposed to set the tone in games!

If we don't do something smart for the small forward position soon, I'm going to dread this season... The only hope is the lottery balls won't screw us out of a top 3 pick and Mullin will pick the right guy with a nice balance of ready now and high ceiling (sort of like with Dwight Howard or any kind of man child with plenty of skills and a nice maturity level attitude-wise).

I wish Atlanta would just give us Josh Smith or Josh Childress or Marvin Williams instead. Cheap and somewhat nba ready. I don't want no Harrington because it means long term deal with plenty of guaranteed cash on it. If Harrington took a two year deal from the Warriors like with Atlanta that'd be fine, but he's probably trying to earn his pay like Stephen Jackson did on Atlanta to Indiana. We don't want to be spending like mad until we get rid of the luxury tax and deadweight like Foyle/Dunleavy/Murphy/Baron Davis or any guy not earning his contract or playing the position the right way.

I also found a website that was almost exactly the same things that I wrote what each basketball position should do and boy was I so happy. I'm like, "Someone read my mind!" I sure hope the Warriors build a solid team according to that. Btw in our case, SF duties are switched with the guard Jason Richardson while Dunleavy handles some guard duties. Kwan probably mentioned before that G/F are interchangeable, it's the point guards and the centers that are hard to find.

Troy Murphy and Adonal Foyle and Derek Fisher tended to do the least amount of duties for their position, which is why I argue that point guard and center are the MOST important positions on a team unless the shooting guard and power forward can emulate either of those two positions. The small forward just remains as a scorer rather than a setup guy that can dominate with quickness or size/strength and make others better...

Of course there is a way to play with nothing but backcourt players, but those teams don't make it that far in a game of mismatches, especially ones that can't shoot, make good decisions with the ball, or dribble.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AlleyOop:</div><div class="quote_post">I say Warriors management nees to stop crying [IMG] cross their fingers [IMG] and stop pretending like they don't have a clue [IMG]. With all the bickering that's going on [IMG] it just seems like Mully needs to set this whole roster on fire [IMG], afterall Santa knows who's been naughty or nice [IMG] and the way it looks now, he won't be bringing Mully any treats this year [IMG]. If Montgomery can crack his whip [IMG] find a way to get his players to cooperate [IMG] then I think Cohan will consider keeping him [IMG]. If he can get these gus to produce, the fans will respond in the stands [IMG] and at the pub [IMG] and even Thunder will raise the roof [IMG]. Then Mullin will give the approval sign [IMG] for Cohan to keep Monty. But the way it looks now, he can only dream of a title [IMG] without some help in the paint [IMG] because Foyle just doesn't get it [IMG] and no amount of coaching will help [IMG] because frankly when he tries to catch a pass he's all thumbs [IMG]:. We need a guy who's hungry, who'll call for the bal in the paint [IMG] and not be shy to dish out a little punishment [IMG]. We need some swagger; a guy who's not afraid to show the other team up [IMG], who can get on fire [IMG] and quiet the crowd in the clutch [IMG] So go ahead Mully, its yo birthday [IMG] we gonna pardy like its yo birthday [IMG], and if you're able to find a guy who can average a double double at the center position, I'll be shocked [IMG] but stoked [IMG] and I'll even give you a free shot [IMG] for all the flak you've been taking, but just don't punch me in the gut or I might [IMG].
