I'm going to Vegas in a month. Just for a couple days, but I'm working a wine event, and then have a couple nights to go have some fun. Always nice to travel on someone else's dime. Even if it is Vegas (I don't love it).
Got me. I liked it too. Casino and buffet kinda sucked but fremont is mardi gras of the west. Didnt see spandex nation but did see a bunch of good music. Good band doing a great david bowie fame rendition i posted on fb live if your lucky enough to be my friend on there. Lol Ill post a few pics i think are cool, when i get home.
Thought about it yesterday but chilled in the hotel casino instead. My wifes family bought tickets to this and said it was awsome. When we tried to get some it was sold out. Cost us $56 for the taxi to the hotel cUse we didnt have uber set up yet. THen spent $70 total for all uber rides including back to the airport and down to baristas hole in the wall restuarant. Was incredibly impressed. Uber all the way! Pffft. Sketch. That wasnt that sketch and wasnt that hip hop. And im more hip hop than...wayne newton, so i fit in anywhere!!! Hard core man. You dont like a little fun? I loved it. Thought it was bad ass. What else you gonna look at anyhow? Hotel towers?
Do not arrive with 28 bags and cases, bringing them into your upper floor corner room 4-5 at a time, over a few days...
Stayed at The Flamingo on a surprise birthday trip courtesy of my wife, they bumped us up to an elegant suite as a present. Staff was great, saw a good comedian. It was January, which is apparently when all the big stars take a vacation. Walked most of the strip, checked out most of the hotels The only downer was Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville. Flat-out horrible food and a crummy rock band.
I just got back Monday night. Stayed at Park MGM and was very impressed. Monte Carlo was a dump, but they've done a nice job renovating and adding new stuff. The Eataly area is cool, they have a good Korean restaurant, and On The Record is a very nice club in there. I spent most of my time in the sports book and bar though. It's not as big as some of the other hotels on the strip, but it suits my style.
I wanna check out the Korean joint (Best Friend by Roy Choi). May not eat there though, just get a neon hat or some shit. Most was under construction but I could walk through last time I was there.
I had spicy pork there right after I checked in. I couldn't find an empty bar stool in any bar at the hotel and I finally caught somebody leaving the bar at Best Friend and snagged the seat. I was not disappointed.
Roy Choi is the man, he started the whole Korean Taco craze with the Kogi Truck. He doesn't shy away from bold flavors.
Taxes and Resort fees are out of control btw. Holy fucking shit, it says like 150 a night for a room, then for 2 nights its all of the sudden, $500.
I got round trip airfare and the room for 4 nights for $780, then you pay the resort fee when you get there. Not bad imo.
I love traditional Korean food. It's just so hard to find in Portland. e.g. Doenjang jjigae made with clams not beef and the right amount of jalapenos, of course along with the other ingredients. No brothels, no naked girls? Count me out.
What??? I thought you were a high roller who got the El Presidente Suite comped! My image of you has been destroyed. barfo
first rule of what NOT to do in Vegas....have unprotected sex with a hooker and marry her before you can remember her name
Ever been to the M down south? @bodyman5000 and 1 Someone told me its not bad for those that get bored with all the drunks on the strip. I heard they have looser slots and what not?
