I would've pooh-poohed alternate cities as well, except I see how well a relatively-successful hockey franchise is supported in Tampa, FL, of all places.
It's going to suck, we're going to endure the early stages of a new owner which is almost always a trainwreck. Think about Cuban in his first years, Vivek, Mikhail Prokhorov(nets), idiots kids of Jerry Buss after his death etc. It's rare to get a new owner who's not "excited" and wants to be "involved" in every decision ,even though he's just a rookie owner who doesn't know shit about the NBA or even pro basketball in general. These guys were usually very successful at what they did so they think their 'instincts' and 'knowledge' would automatically make them successful as owners. Oh Paul, why didn't you have sons who would've loved basketball as much as you did?
He left it to Blaze who in an unprecedented first move trades Lillard for Austin Rivers citing Rivers rank coming out of HS as a garauntee that Rivers will now be a superstar and much better then Lillard
Has @jlprk been here to tout a Trader Bob ownership consortium yet? I can’t bring myself to wade through the entire thread.
That does not always work out well either. (ie Jim Buss) Our best bet is it being sold to a group that includes someone with some basketball knowledge. (like a Terry Porter) Who tried in the past when Paul was thinking of selling?
I got a feeling will be sold as quick as possible. Seahawks probably longer since they are a bigger team and they might wait till the playoffs are over. Olshey is going to probably have a hard time since every expenditure is under the Vulcan's watchful eye. He doesn't have carte blanche anymore. I'd give anything to know what Dame is thinking right now. We are going to go through a shadowy period right now, folks. Let's hope we come out the other side.
Tucson is just an ungodly hot and dry shit hole where dipshits go to be hipsters with a tan! take that Tucson!
