It's not dumb at all. As someone who lost friends that day, September 11th changed a lot of my viewpoints regarding national security.

Registered independent. I was a lifelong Republican until about 8 years ago when I got tired of the far right wing of the party grabbing control of things.

Republican. Almost switched to Libertarian but they can never get a decent candidate on the ballot (not saying the other parties do either)

I'm registered as an independent, because I like to tell myself I'm independent.
    I vote almost always Democrat.
The only party that matters in Idaho (where I live) is Republican, so I've been meaning to register as a Republican so I can vote in their (now closed) primaries. Then I could at least choose the lesser of two homophobic airport bathroom molesting bastards.

I am not registered and I don't vote anymore. I haven't since 92, when I voted for Perot. I guess technically I'd be registered as a Republican but like I said, I don't vote anymore.

So why am I posting in this thread? Not sure.

I don't think it's dumb either. But I do think the reaction to 9/11 is overblown. The number of people killed by foreign terrorists on US soil is less than 3000, ever. The number of people killed in car accidents in the US is 40,000+, each year. It seems like we should be declaring war on cars and bombing Nagoya and Detroit, if protecting American lives is the issue here.

Losing 3000 people aint great, of course, but it doesn't threaten our national security.

The Constitution party. If you believe your rights come from God so there is no need to beg for them from anyone and you can defend the Constitution as having the correct answer anytime the question arises, then you are in my party.

The politician closest to this view I believe would be Rand Paul

I have been an R, but the bs vote hunt going on now in the GOP has me looking elsewhere. I expect to switch to who ever is the most reasonable I or L, or if obama trys to retain power, I will be in the resistance movement
