I don’t want anything from the #7 pick other than trade value. It should be used to get a veteran player.
LOL Tyty saying getting wazzed (I think which according to urban dictionary is getting drunk) I liked Sharpe's personality coming out a bit after hearing that haha
The salary stuff is exactly why we need talent on Rookie scale contracts. It would be EXTREMELY foolish to trade the #7 for OG and then have an undersized Forward rotation especially given OG's contract and injury concerns. I'd much, much rather have Sochan or perhaps Sharpe (just given his upside), or even go with Duren and move Nurk for a Forward. I also think the Collins plus the #16 and hope you get one of Sochan, Duren, or Jovic at 16 (in that order) to give us another Forward or Center.
I think you gotta take Murray there. Sharpe is the true darkhorse near the top of the board. I could see him being the best player out of this draft or a Simmons-esque headcase who fails. I voted Sharpe simply because I think he will be available there and rumors are his workouts have been amazing. I'd also be fine with Daniels there. Murray I would be outright stoked getting at 7. You can never have too many forwards. I can kinda get behind the idea then of trading Charlotte EBEC for Hayward and another pick. We are moving all-in on Dame and picking up Duren or Sochan or even Jovic late is a great way to balance big salaries with rookie-scale salaries that are attached to talent and upside. I don't like getting Hayward but I do like picks in the teens in this draft which seems top-heavy and then VERY broad. I can see players outside the top 5 having the ability to end up being steals at almost any pick between 7 and 16. This is one of the most intriguing drafts in a while simply because I see talent with question marks all over and there isn't a ton of consensus. That will reward savvy drafting and we need to hit a home run on one of these guys so multiple picks seems great. If, BIG IF, Hayward can stay healthy he'd be a legit menace off the bench and could become an asset. It's worth considering I think.
If hiding for a year made Sharpe a top ten pick, maybe he should have gone into hiding for another year to see if he could be #1!! I don't care who doesn't like hearing it - this kid is a fraud who will break hearts just as surely as Oden did.
It’s not that I don’t like Keegan. I’m sure he’ll be better than some of the people I have ahead of him. I don’t like his potential. I think he’s a really safe pick. I don’t see him having the playmaking ability, ballhandling or shot creation to be a star.
Assuming no surprise drops, Duren, Sochan, Manutherin, or Davis would all be defensible picks. This is where you separate a pro scout from the fans.
So you'd draft Sochan at 7 over Keegan assuming both are there and your other picks somehow aren't? I'm just curious what you think. Honestly, if Sochan is 6'9" or taller as rumored then he is a very intriguing pick.
Seems a lot more likely the Murray might be there at 7. If he is, I can see us taking him and keeping the pick.
Dame Ant Grant Murray Nurk With Hart, Nas, and Winslow off the bench. That's an intriguing 8 man rotation. We'd need another center and another guard though.
Seemed pretty blasphemous to think Murray might drop to 7 since basically the draft lottery. Wonder what changed in the last few days.
I don’t think Winslow as your 8th best player is good at all. But to be fair, you don’t have an MLE signing in that rotation yet. If Murray is there, you trade down to get a Mathurin or Sharpe and hope you can get a 2023 1st or some other compensation with them. Murray seems like he could become like Tobias Harris, and he doesn’t have the athleticism to potentially be great defensively imo. I’m sure the Suns would pick Murray if they had #7, but we shouldn’t.
