Honestly, all of our starters have been great. LaMarcus has the rhythm of a blind pianist. Damian has the serenity of a buddhist monk. Wesley has the foresight of a grandmaster. Nicolas has the skill set of Leonardo Da Vinci. Robin has the patience of the Pacific Ocean.
He's deep, wide, and going nowhere, no matter what you try. A constant temperature all year round. Cool. And a little salty
Totally predicted this. Terry has a plan and is coaching his ass off, while McHale is still confused as to how POR is winning. Reminds me of Adelman vs Nate.
He doesn't care what the shore is made from. He will wear it down eventually. He won't get into foul trouble on stupid things. edit: Also BC takes my analogy and runs further with it! Hats off to you sir!
What really impresses me is that I don't feel like the Blazers are playing above themselves. LA can't score 45 a game forever, but it hasn't taken all our players hitting crazy threes and playing out of their minds to beat Houston. We have room left to improve as the post-season continues, even after kicking it up an extra gear.
Nice. I was really impressed with Rolo last night. That 1st quarter when he was left on an island, over and over, against a motivated Dwight Howard, in a hostile arena in the playoffs, a lesser man would have started to hang his head or at the very least give in to the temptation of fouling. But Robin kept battling all night long and by the time the 4th quarter came around there was Robin making plays and making Dwight work. Given the intelligent decision by Stotts to allow Dwight to go off (way off), and in doing so take Parsons and Harden out of their games, I thought Robin really took one for the team last night.
http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/plus-minus/201404230HOU.html Interesting stats: Dwight went off in the first, but ended up a -2 on that first shift. His great performance? Nullified. Damian was fucking awesome from a +/- standpoint for most of the game. TRob is hustling, but he might not be a good fit against the Rockets. I'd look to see much more Dorell and less TRob for Game 3.
I agree with this. We're playing very well but not above ourselves. I mean, LA can't keep this pace up, but Wes & Nic have yet to really step up.
I think they're being asked to shut people down entirely, and so are expending all their effort like defensive linemen. That they haven't gone off offensively is fine with me, as long as their counterparts also underperform.
Last night the Rox went to Howard every possession early and cleary RoLo could not guard him. The announcers were all but ejaculating in their pants over him. But no one panicked, and I was thinking that Howard would run out of gas unless the other Houston players picked up some slack. They didn't and he did.
