<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NTC187:</div><div class="quote_post"> So let me get this straight, you read some ridiculous book written by some guy about how you should be living your life, and you suddenly have the answers to life? Do you honestly believe God handed a book (A book for christs sake!) down from the freaking sky, claiming it as his rules and regulations to the world!? Gimme a break. I'm not the one going around claiming to know why we're here, when the world is going to end and what happens after we die, I mean do you understand how idiotic you sound? You're actually claiming to know what happens when we die, when we die! How do you know? How do you know there is a Heaven and a Hell? Because some stupid book told you there was? You sir are going to be mighty dissapointed when you die and find out you're just rotting away in the ground. God is nothing more than a folk tale, a myth passed down through the ages. There is absolutley no difference between God and Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy, none at all. I mean you still havent even been able to tell me what God is, you've just alluded it. If you know so much, why cant you tell me what God is? Because you dont know. No one knows, you're worshipping somthing that you dont understand, that doesnt even exist. When I die, I'm going to the exact same place as you are, the cold hard ground.</div> read some ridiculous book? please dont say that to Quran. It is very disrespecting to other reliogions..It wasn't a stupid book just written by someone..It was written by god! Of course..you dont believe what im saying because ur Athiest. I dont expect you to believe what im saying. And look at you..saying stuff like that about God..and you expect to go to heaven.. Yeah you can be good and go to heaven. But people who are athiest and treat god like that ...And also..why are you talking about how god sent down Quran. I am telling you what i believe. Why are you telling me "so you are telling me..god sent a book down from the friggin sky?" I am telling you what I believe. I am not telling you to believe in that.. I am just telling you what I believe!! You are basically saying what i believe is some dumb ****.. You know what you are the dumb one who expects to go to heaven after disrespecting god and his book. If i were you..I'd go to the library and grab an English Quran. You are asking me how do i know what is going to happen when the world ends. and ur also asking me how do i know how the world is gonna end. I know ur athiest and dont know any knowledge about religions. You know what? It says everything about how ur gonna die and how the world is gonna end in THE QURAN! I know that because i read it! I know what god is.. God is a soul. He created everything we have right now.. From humans to grass to everything! I do know what i worship. And you dont worship anything thinking you are gonna go to heaven disrepcting god and his book..
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> I haven’t read this thread since my post, but I’m going to give my basic over view. It is hard to explain religion, or god to a person who does not have faith, because that is the general bases of religion. There is no way to explain religion logically, because it is something beyond our understanding. I am a very religious person (bible study, church, etc.) religion gives people a sense of fulfillment; as though they are, part of something bigger than them. I am not going to sit here and try to explain faith, because it’s really something that can’t be supported by facts. </div> Bingo. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Ok, so I'm going to Hell am I? If God is so accepting of people, why isnt he accepting of me? </div> The after life is something none of us can comprehend so I can't really comment on that. I believe in karma so thus, what you do in thisn life will affect your next life. Your deeds in this life (say that of a law abiding citizen) means that you will return as a human in your next life as well. However, you may not believe that, but that's okay....none of us can comprehend as to what death equates to. Curiously, what do YOU (NTC) believe happens when we die? As in, when you're in the closing moments of your life and your eyes close, what do you think happens? <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> I already answered this earlier, but I am here for the simple fact that I am here. I'm here to be who I am, and that is what I'm doing. If you are destined, you shall be. Hitler grew up under just the kinds of conditions and went threw just the kinds of things in his life growing up that it influenced him into being such a leader to the point that the world itself would change. We can choose not to but life is what you maKE of it. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> No one knows, you're worshipping somthing that you dont understand, that doesnt even exist. </div> I understand what God is, I just can't prove God exists. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Junoon:</div><div class="quote_post">I think you misinterpreted him. He wasn't calling people who believe in God idiots, he's just saying people use God's name in vain to commit thier actions or some things happen in this world that people say is "meant to" happen; but there is no goodness in it whatsoever and that people are "idiots" because they do idiotic things and we have no explanations to justify thier actions.</div> <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Junoon:</div><div class="quote_post">It's not a matter of opinions...it's a matter of perspective on religion. Basically, as I said before, people NEED something to believe in, something to hold on to so they can, even for a second, erase thier fears. It's a belief. We can never PROVE God existed...if we proved God existed, it's would be pointless I believe. There are so many religions in this world...why? Because everyone has a different belief as to what "God" is. It's not opinion, it's perspective...it's what we choose to believe as to what God is. My perspective as to what God is differs from that of a Catholic...however, we both believe in God, just have different perspectives as to what "God" is.</div> Bolded part, I agree with, thats my basic thought on religion. Basically a "fear eraser", trying to make people think that if they dont do certain things the right way or what ever, they will go to heaven, or go to hell. I know what you're saying with the second part, but if everyone is worshipping a different god, who is right? No one is right. Well in that case, how can God be anything, if no ones opinion of God is right? <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Junoon:</div><div class="quote_post">I wouldn't be ok with you harming my family period. Just because you say you do it for God doesn't mean it's okay. It just means your perspective of the reasonings of God is a little jaded and moreso perplexed then that of other people.</div> But who says my actions are wrong? I mean if I'm telling you that God is telling me to go around and kill people, you cant argue with that can you? Because if its my belief that going around killing people will make me a better person, who's to stop me? Who says that your God is right? And that mine is wrong? <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Junoon:</div><div class="quote_post">1. Wars happened due to human stupidity, agreed. But they also taught forthcoming generations lessons, wouldn't you agree? We learned from World Wars 1 and 2, don't you think? 2. Look, basically, God has given us this world....what we do while we're in here is our business....everyone is responsible for their own actions. That includes politicians, lawyers, druggies, hypnotists, anyone....but in the end, everyone needs somehting to believe in. 3. You may not believe that a God exists but in the deepest darkest moments of your life when you have no one to turn to but yourself, when you're in a state of personal torment and you feel no one will ever know what you're going through....what are you going to do? Where will you get the inner strength to continue?</div> 1. To be honest, no, we didnt learn anything. Ok we havent seen such bloodshed since then, but we're even more viscious, more blood thirsty than ever. 2. Well I dont agree everyone "needs" somthing to believe in, but if it makes you feel better... 3. In times like those, and trust me I have experience them, I get the inner strength from myself. Its up to me to rise and overcome such situations. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Junoon:</div><div class="quote_post">Okay, we evolved from monkeys, that's great. But who created the first monkey? I'm sure the first species (of any kind) on Earth was not a result of the "big bang" or any other scientific theory?? It's cool that we evolved from something but how was the source of that evolution itself created from?</div> Well I can say the same thing about God. What created God? You can take the easy way out by saying "Well God just was", I can say the same thing about the monekys or whatever, because you cant prove otherwise. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Junoon:</div><div class="quote_post">Curiously, what do YOU (NTC) believe happens when we die? Untill I do, I dont know. I think the most logical reason I believe about death is thats it, you just die and thats it, game over. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Junoon:</div><div class="quote_post">If there is no reasoning behind lives, people such as Hitler, prophets such as Muhammad (and it has been proven he existed I believe), and even to a lesser extent, atheletes such as Lebron James would not have come into fruition and became what they became. As you said, life is what you make of it. If I want to be a doctor, I can go and study to become one, I'm not born destined to be a doctor. I know I didnt reply to some of the stuff you said, but I'd be here for another hour if I did, lol. The stuff I didnt reply to, I feel I didnt have to, as your posts have come across not so much as debatable, but more as speaking your mind, if that makes sense, lol. Think I need to take a break, all this thinking and writing is doing my head in.
As Junoon said.. People cant prove that god exists. You have to have faith in him to believe that he exists. I have faith in him which is why i believe in him and which is why i worship him. I just cant be like..I saw God at the store to make you believe he exists. Proving that god exists is impossible. If you want me to tell you how there is god..i cant..because its impossible.. but i can tell you one thing..i have faith in god which is why i worship him and which is why i believe in him. i believe in everything about god. so do i still have to prove to you if god exists or not? the best i can do is tell you that i have full faith in him. i know there is a god because i have faith in him.
Well lets just agree to disagree then. As I said, I never expected my views to change yours, the wonderful thing about this world is we have the freedom to do almost what ever we like, so if you want to believe that, even though I personally think its rubbish, I'm not going to hold it against you.
I was an atheist, and am now a weak-faith Christian. (I'm trying, but I struggle at times (I need to rely on God more)) I've read the Bible, the Quran, the majority of the Rig Veda, and other short religious texts (Dammapada, Tao Te Ching, some of Vinaya Pittaka(mainly the 227 rules for monks(Bikkhus))), and just read up on other religions (Jainism, Parsis, Shinto, etc.) At this point the bible seems to be the truth to me.

Whether you believe in religion or not you can't ignore the fact that religion teachs morals and guidelines to humans. It's why I think most have lasted as long as they did. But nonetheless, I don't believe in god nor do I associate myself with any religion. Maybe we really did evolve from cells, maybe science truly is the answer to everything. I don't know, niether do you so don't press your beliefs on me. What do I believe happens when we die? Well I've always loved science and if energy cannot be created nor destroyed who is to say we truly, die? Energy takes different forms, so maybe we become ghosts after we die? Sounds stupid but logical that our energies in our bodies change form and go elsewhere, no? Just speaking in general fyi.
