Why would The Raps be interested in Simons when they have Trent & Fred, Flynn is a point guard as well?

why would we trade a 23 yr old efficient 20 pt scorer who has shown the potential to grow into a go-to guy, while he is on a very reasonable fully guaranteed contract for 3.5 more years?

I understand if we could trade him straight up for Siakam, or maybe even OG, or maybe as a package for KD, but those deals won't be available.

The idea of trading him just because Dame is also on the roster is stupid. These guys have played together in their current roles for half a season. Give it some time to see if they can develop more synergy; i've already seen more from these two than I did Dame-CJ. Those comparisons need to stop.

I've read reports that Fred's knees are running out of cartilage & sure wouldn't feel good about Flynn as the starting PG of the team I'm rooting for.

I'm glad you asked! Because currently he is about an average NBA starter for us, but somebody else could see him in a role we couldn't give him and might therefore value him more than his value to us.

Plus: in terms of everything but scoring he is below average.

Does "developing more synergy" involve one of them growing about 4 inches and learning how to play defense?

See, this is why Pat Riley has got to trade for him. Hey, it worked for Tim Hardaway!

If you find a move that betters the team you take it, but you don't trade Simons for the sake of trading him.

he's 23 and has had exactly less than 2 yrs in a featured role. And he's shown that he can explode as a scorer to levels only reached by the elite of the elite. That's not something I would be so dismissive of as you seem to be doing.

ant has shown more improvement on defense this year than I expected. his height is not an issue. people like to belabor this point, but he's only slightly shorter than most starting SGs in the league.

You mean he can get hot from three? Oh, like Martell Webster, then.

I think I just did it again

And a lot lighter, with some of the skinniest legs ever.

it's no use engaging in debate when someone compares simons to martell webster.

to say that take is idiotic is generous.

How well do you guys think the Lillard/Trent starting combo would be faring right now?

    fine?

our current backcourt is not the problem. they are elite on offense and slightly below average on defense.

we just don't have wing or center depth.

1-3 we can’t really defend the position adequately. Hart is a good defender, just not against most the leagues 3’s. Simons sucks at defending and Lillard is much improved but that’s not saying a lot

Doubt we could touch Siakam but maybe OG and some for Simons.

Simons & Little for OG & Thad Young.....

it was an example of two types of trades, and I did say I don't think the Blazer assets have nearly that much value

There's some weird stuff going on with Blazers media propping up Anfernee Simons immediately following bad performances.

It's either (A) they are using positive headlines with cherry picked stats to keep trade talks at a premium.

    (B) giving fans the impression that Simons is the next greatest Blazer ever, due to an impending Lillard trade.

or (C) Simons is so mentally frail, he needs pat on the back news articles following crappy games to help prevent him from crying on the court.

I'd obviously hope it's an A or B situation. Because C questions the Blazers evaluation of giving a player 40 minutes per game who is clearly not ready for the show.
