I kind of used to like them, but when my sister and all of her other 11-12 year old friends started to get obsessed with them and they started playing them everyday on TRL, I was really turned off to them.

Anyway, right now I'm listening to -

    The Roots - Sacrifice
Followed on playlist by: The Beatles - Helter Skelter

Journey to the West - Machu Pichu
    Cornershop - Brimful of Asha
    Weezer - Keep Fishin'

The next song will be Wrex n' Effex's Rump Shaker.

And a good evening to all.

If it's good, it's good. No matter how many times MTV plays it or not.

I never knew you liked Southern rap. In my opinion, rap should be subdivided into several different genres like rock is divided into Alternative, Classic, Soft Rock, and Metal. There should be Classic (Run DMC, Public Enemy, etc.), Southern (Hot Boyz, Three Six Mafia, etc.), West Coast (Snoop Dogg, etc.), Gangsta (50 Cent, The Game, etc.), and then Lyrical (Mos Def, The Roots, and bands that focuss more on lyrics than beats, etc.).

The only reason why I say that is because I was recently in a chatroom where a bunch of kids were putting down Run DMC for their beats and Three Six Mafia for their lyrics while hyping up 50 Cent and the likes, but what they didn't understand is that all three make three totally different kids of rap. You can't compare them.

Anyway, sorry for rambling... I had too much time.

Listening to: Saul Williams - Penny For A Thought
Followed By: Led Zepplin - Black Dog

BTW - Way to post your entire playlist, Sasha.

I hate southern rap, the lyrics are generally terrible, but I like most of the beats. Good for the club and good for working out to.

This is exactly why I don't like people talking about southern rap who don't understand it. It's not about the lyrics! If everyone in the south was concerned with lyrics, then you wouldn't see half of the rappers you see out of the south today. We leave that stuff to Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and the likes.

Listening to: Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Child
