I think he was pointing more at the fact that the Suns haven't won a ring, so they should keep their mouth shut. Not, the Lakers > Suns in terms of jewelry.

I don't think any Laker fan would deny that the Suns are a better team, but this comment was unnecessary. He in no way said, the Lakers were the better team.

Also, the Lakers aren't "a really bad team." Really bad teams are lottery bound.
