I took the time to rethink it, maybe Aminu isn't That bad. I mean, he's the same type of player as Demarre Carrol in some ways, both are not very skilled or talented. Demarre Carrol is a poor man's Draymond and Aminu is a poor man's Demarre Carrol. You can even take it one step further and say Draymond is a poor man's Lebron. So actually, Aminu is a poor poor poor poor man's Lebron. So maybe he isn't that bad
OK, here it is. Yes to Aminu but as a SF, so we wouldn't have to endure watching him with Turner on the floor, instead let them both play SF. Aminu/Turner/Layman Harkless would play small ball 4.
I think the rotation should basically be -Dame, CJ, Harkless, Aminu, Nurkic, Baldwin, Curry, Zach and everyone else gets “filler” minutes to see if they can prove they deserve more minutes. I’m willing to see what’s Stauskus, Trent, Simons, and Swannigan and I guess Layman have but they have their work cut out for them to get into the rotation. Meyers, no hate here but I’ve seen enough, I think he needs new scenery.
Completely agree. You forgot ET though. Can we throw him in with Meyers in the "no hate here but I’ve seen enough, I think he needs new scenery" category?
Sam Dekker is a guy I would've liked to take a chance on instead of Stauskas. Fits into the Vonleh TPE too. Plus, he's a big SF instead of another guard. And, he's still white so Olshey could still fill his quota
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2790742-how-nba-teams-can-trade-leagues-worst-contracts Charlotte Hornets Receive: PF/C Meyers Leonard, SG/SF Evan Turner (two years, $36.5 million). Memphis Grizzlies Receive: SG/SF Nicolas Batum (three years, $76.7 million) Portland Trail Blazers Receive: SF/PF Chandler Parsons (two years, $49.2 million
Really? Not me. I think Meyers can possibly used as "filler" to make salaries work in a desirable trade. Also, no matter how much I hate Turner (and it's A LOT) - or any of you hate Meyers (also A LOT) - at least he isn't Chandler Parsons! I mean - it's Chandler Fucking Parsons!!!
Yeah, I think Parsons is about done in the league. Turner, as limited as he is, still has a quality move or two. Meyers has a rarity in size and shooting not easily found and thus might end up more valuable. Also. Lets not forget we offered him a contract and he turned the other way. Would he even want to be here? No thanks.
The question becomes next summer what is easier to move: one big contract like Parsons or the "smaller" contracts of Turner and Leonard? Edit: It also cuts over $4.3 million off our cap number this year and opens up a roster spot.
I'd rather take on Batum and then trade for Johnson to stagger those big contracts that will expire in 2021. CHA Gets: Turner, Leonard, MIA Gets: Aminu, Future 2nds POR Gets: Batum, J.Johnson That lineup is much better and Batum and Johnson are switchable defenders that can make plays for others and pass the ball. Sign Brandan Wright as an insurance big. Lillard (36) / McCollum (12) / Baldwin / Simons McCollum (23) / Curry (25) / Trent / Stauskas Harkless (18) / Batum (30) / Layman Johnson (30) / Harkless (12) / Collins (6) / Biggie Nurkic (30) / Collins (18) / Wright That's a damn good lineup. Batum would fit into that Turner playmaker role off the bench. Johnson would be a playmaker at the 4 and is a. Aminu level defender. Everyone has bad contracts expiring in 2020. So it makes sense to have contracts expire in 2021, when GS and HOU are a year older, the cap could be bigger than 2020, and we wouldn't have to give any of our young guys an extension before then.
