It will go down, but not to $300, probally like $700 - $800 $999 Aussie is $800 American, thats still pretty hefty
Hmmmmm... a new idea came to mind. What I'm thinking, is wait a couple of days after the release, peep eBay, see what they're being sold for, and if they're up in the region of say $1,500 or somthing, then I'll go buy it, and just sell it straight up, that way I'll actually make a profit. Otherwise, I'm just going to go with my bank account idea, keep throwing mone in there each week.

People cannot be that stupid. At $1000 a pop it won't sell out.
Because I'm pretty sure they have limited supply. It was meant to be released 3 months ago, when America had it released, but they pushed the Europe and Australasia releases back because they didnt have enough blu ray drives available. And at the American / Japan release, they only released 100,000 or somthing like that. They were popping up on American eBay for like $2000 (USD) a piece.

I can guarantee you won't sell it for more than it is worth.

Yeah, the delay has been pretty BS for non-US gamers that want the console. I believe it releases in Europe tomorrow .. err.. today. lol
Ok, its settled, I'm going to wait. I went to the store today, just to check it out, and the range of games out and the moment is horrendous, absolutley nothing I want to play, and there was only like 25 different games available. The console itself is f'n massive, it looks bigger than the PS2.
It's so much bigger than the ps2, but it's worth it. I'm not sold on the ps3, but if you want a blu-ray disc player, get it. Blu-ray players are running for a grand here in the states.
Yeah they're at $1500 here, and there is only one model on the market (samsung), this was one of the justifiable reasons of originally buying the PS3 for $999, but apparentley the launch here in Australia was quite poor, so the price should drop pretty quickly.
<div class="quote_poster">NTC187 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">but apparentley the launch here in Australia was quite poor, so the price should drop pretty quickly.</div> don't count on it. games are going in the mid $110 as well aren't they? straight to ebay if I ever get one.
LOL! This is so funny. My friends took their PS2 to Pakistan when they went to visit over there. They got this thing called a ma-chip put in their PS2, and because of the ma-chip, they can now play bootleg games on their PS2. Games are 60 rupees in Pakistan, which is equivalent to a $1 here. Yes a $1!! So if you get the machip installed in your game system, you can buy real cheap bootleg games from countries like Pakistan. I didn't want to do it because if they mess up while putting the ma-chip in your console, your system might mess up.

I think the PS3 is the ugliest console, right after the first XBOX anyway. Way too big, you would've thought it'd been much more sleek like most consoles are going for today. Well, you can expect a change in appearance in about three years I bet. The font for the PS3 itself is just ripped from the Spider-Man films. lol

Well I decided to go and pick up the PS3 I preordered today, as after yesterday when I got my braces on, and went to pay, the lady told me that the Hi Caps (Health Insurance) were giving it all back to me ($800 ), plus I'm getting about $700 back from Tax Return soon, so I thought why the hell not. Really only cost me $800 for the actual console, as I got a $200 worth a controller and game (Call Of Duty 3) for free, so I saved $200 on buying it now. I'm still questioning wether or not I did the right thing, but in a few months time I wont really care (like over paying for a new Computer I bought), lol. I guess I can always sell it on eBay and make most of if not all of that money back if need be, which is what I always use to justify big purchases, lol.
