My thought is that after this year they will have to decide between Keon and GP2, unless they can't resign Hart.

G-league is good for getting a few guys their next contract.

It would be good to have our own team...

Trade Hart and Nas then he gets PT

I think we’ll struggle early in the season and Billups will kick the tires and mix things up leading to more PT for the young guy.

5 each from Hart, Little, and Payton.

And if history is any indicator Little may well get injured and free up 25 mpg.

I would bet anything that if our guys are all healthy this year, Hart gets moved at the deadline. He's gonna be a FA and I think has trade value. And if Shaedon is ready for legit PT while we are in playoff contention, we might want to use Hart to recoup a pick because we will owe ours to CHI.

Nah. He needs minutes in the NBA against real competition. It helps him and it tells the team if he is that great of a talent that he can produce after the all-star game or if it is going to go longer and he needs to spend some time at the G-league after the all-star game. This kid has a natural physical gift. You need to figure out if he is ready to contribute soon or if it is a year or two in the future. Only one way to figure that out, in real games against real competition.

he has no value, except being a filler, but no-one will trade for him alone

hes 20 yo, two more years on rookie contract, keep him and see if he can develop into legit nba player

if he and sharpe break out, along with simons and aging dame, its a good problem to have

His offense obviously came around against a bad team…but I think he can play purely because he’s pretty good in defense

Totally agree. Sharpe is not a fringe player. He is a now player.

We weren’t ever gonna contend this year, Cronin and dame have said that. This is the year we figure out who’s a good fit. And also to develop the young guys. We will be pretty mediocre this year. Not quite tanking but not quite contending. Literally one of the best ways for us to contend within the next couple year is having sharpe turn into a star. Might as well give him all the mins he need. Little look worse at the 3 than hart, Winslow, and now sharpe. Time to move on from him

But if you want defense, we've got Payton. And Josh Hart. And actually Johnson has been a steals machine so far.

Sharpe's main competition for minutes is Johnson, I think, because he's not going to take minutes from Simons, Hart or Payton, and Johnson is currently ahead of him just because he had all of Summer League and has been one of our bright spots so far in preseason. Plus: 11 assists last night!

If that was the plan, we wouldn't have signed Payton.

We signed Payton for more than a year.

Exactly. Cronin is putting the pieces together. The maturation of Ant, Nas, and now Sharpe is vital to this plan working. Nas is off to a slow start, but i got a feeling he will kick in soon.

Sharpe should stay with the team as opposed to being sent to G league. He is young and talented and needs the coaching from our main staff, as well as practicing with the main team, getting spot minutes, getting used to the long travel schedule, and getting mentored by our vets.

I would much rather have him learning from Dame, Billups, Hart, etc. than learning from some G league folks.

I see in the box score Nas had a nice shooting game. Good stuff. Hate not being able to watch last night. All the pre season games should be on Root. They had the Mariners on 3 Root Channels. C'mon man.

This is why I hate that we're straddling two roads. We have too many guards who need playing time.

I'd trade Ant. Try to get another star quality forward. Start Hart. Develop Keon and Sharpe. It's weird but Keon is actually developing nicely as a point guard.

How many Maccabi players would you say could play in the NBA?

I'm sorry, but getting worked up over what Sharpe or Johnson did last night is a wild over-reaction. That game was no more predictive of the coming season than the loss to a bad Jazz team.

It might translate on some teams. Did they suggest he wouldn't improve any team in the NBA?
