I’m not sure Sharpe is a rotation player, but he needs minutes thrown his way - assuming he’s not a complete oaf in practice - and shows up on time yada yada yada.

VERY small sample size, but I’m not sure the D League would actually do anything for his game.

Pretty sure he would light those guys up like he did the scrub team last night.

Using a football analogy, he needs reps against the 1s. Not reps against the 3rd stringers/JV.

Question: why is it that something along those lines NEEDS to get done? Personally, I don’t think SGA is needed at all.

I want Sharpe to be a 2 if we trade Ant, I don’t want to trade Ant for a guy to just replace him with. As far as consolidation trade, I would wait and see what happens with the Raptors in the east.

Sharpe will probably wait for opening to get minutes from trade or injury same as Walker.

I think if he's getting a good amount of touches in Chauncey's ball movement offense that Grant will sign a four year extension on January 6th when we can offer it to him.

In that picture of Shaedon I see Dame Lillard's quiet confidence with hands on hip and those eyes. Kid has swagger!

I thought Keon broke the record in the combine back in 2021.

Grant will be extended before the year is out.
Winslow, as you said, is not good enough to worry about. If some team pulls an Olshey and gives him a Turner-esque overpay, we say vaya con dios and don't give him another thought.
Little has yet to give any indication this preseason that he's ready to step into the role that is ready-made for him. If he can't be the starting 3 we need him to be, he needs to go.

The fact that Wilt could do that is just sick.

I get the sense reading this thread that most don't think there will be any injuries this year. I just have a hard time worrying about finding playing time for players. I think it is more likely that at least 10 players end up starting at one point this year, including SS.

would make sense for his size and really only weakness seems to be his dribbling can be sloppy.

Give him enough time, and his dribbling will undoubtedly improve.

I envision him being a Kobe type SF (NOT saying he'll be Kobe Bryant level of superstardom, just Kobe was a relatively short SF/SG combo)

Sharpe should get minutes over those guys and that doesn’t mean we’re tanking. Means we’re investing in our greatest weapon while also trying to win.

I think Sharpe has good handles. He just needs to adjust to a whole new level of defenders. What used to work easily for him now does not. This is why you ease him into the rotation.

Until then if the coaching staff can convince him to just get open on the perimeter for jumpers and slash to the hoop for layups and jams that are all set up for him by the offense, he can be one of our best scorers right now because the guy has shown that he's willing to pass the ball and do it well when a defense converges on him. On defense he has all of the tools but Sunday will be really telling as far as just how well he can defend NBA level talent.

If he can defend and play the role of off the ball scorer until he gets more comfortable with his handle against NBA level defenders then he can get PT right now that isn't given to him because he's the 7th pick but needs to be given to him because of all of the things he can do that no one else can on this squad. I do agree that as he gets used to playing that his handle can develop and he can be a scorer on all levels but right now just using all of the shots he has and his athleticism should be enough to get him minutes, again as long as he can keep up on D.

I don’t know but I’m excited about the prospectus of Sharpe more than any rookie in a long time. You can tell the game comes easy to him and he’s just trying to fit in right now and catch up to speed.

I’ve seen him do a few things on the court that are only attributes of stars

Taking the words out of my mouth sir. Man, eye test wise, he’s got it all on offense. Of all the recent SGs that have come out between Edwards, Green, and Barrett, he has the one thing over them that you can’t teach, size. I don’t expect him to be as good as them offensively right away, but I’m fully convinced he can be better than them on both ends of the floor. Even the guys that will come out soon like the Thompson twins who seem like they might be even more athletic than Sharpe haven’t flashed his kind of offensive package. You almost never find a PG/SG that locks up an All NBA and All Defensive team in a season the way Jordan, Kobe, CP3, and JKidd did year after year. I really believe Sharpe can get there eventually.
