And now we all see what happens when Trump waits to see what happens instead of actually acting.

Well, IIRC, he instated some early travel bans that others thought was foolish (and still might).

But, again, yes, yank, he could have taken stronger action upstream.

Yeah, he could/should have taken MUCH stronger action MUCH earlier.

Looking through the stats, Oregon has been woefully inept at getting tests. Why is this case?

hey, a chance for me to post some stats

    https://www.politico.com/interactives/2020/coronavirus-testing-by-state-chart-of-new-cases/

    compare Oregon and Colorado:

    * Oregon has tested 13,826 with 690 positive and 18 deaths

    * Colorado has tested 15,364 with 2627 positive and 51 deaths

so then, Oregon is testing 20 for every positive result while Colorado is testing 6 for every positive result

    I'll do some others:

    * Utah is testing 20.9 for every positive result
    * Oregon is testing 20 for every positive result
    * Nebraska is testing 18 for every positive result
    * Idaho is testing 13.8 for every positive result
    * Washington is testing 13.4 for every positive result
    * Texas is testing 13.2 for every positive result
    * Nevada is testing 10.6 for every positive result
    * Florida is testing 9.6 for every positive result
    * Colorado is testing 6 for every positive result
    * Louisiana is testing 4.8 for every positive result
    * California is testing 4 for every positive result
    * New York is testing 2.7 for every positive result
    * Michigan is testing 2.6 for every positive result

I'll admit I don't know what would be the best way to gauge which states have been inept at testing. We know there is a limited supply of tests. It would seem that positive results would be one way to set the need for a higher testing level. Maybe it would be better to go by hospitalizations or per capita as a gauge...I don't know

but it really doesn't look like Oregon is behind other states in testing, and if tests are limited, maybe it's better to send them to places that are much more advanced along the curve than we are here. For as much grief as Kate Brown and the state government got for their responses and reactions, Oregon is doing fairly well so far, especially considering we are stuck between Washington and California. That could change of course in a week

There’s no political capital to be gained in Oregon. The state is deep blue and Kate Brown would truly have to shit the bed before that would ever change......politically she really doesn’t have a hell of a lot to gain....or lose.....by the low rate of testing. But of course President Rent Boy could be making us pay for for her “sins” also........

True fact....this is the first time I have EVER addressed the guy currently squatting in the White House as “President”......

    Riddle me this....

3 of the 18 confirmed deaths in Oregon form the Covid has been at the Aster house where my mother is. She still has not been tested.

    Why?

Agreed. But the point still remains - the US would not have been any better prepared regardless of who is President.
There are bureaucratic inefficiencies that just can't be ignored.

There is no factual information to back up that claim. We know for a fact that trump has handled it poorly.
