They're moving enough seats to add a 4pt line for Lillard.

Maybe somebody else's "average"...a little heavy on the balls if you ask me!

Just think how incredibly shitty it is around the Moda Center. And I don't mean the homeless even, though they contribute. There is nothing there. There's a wacky transit hub and the Left Bank building has and Upright Brewing, but other than that? Jack's maybe? The area is not All-Star Game friendly. The entire campus kind of sucks. You have this old building with ivy all around it that should probably go, several terrible parking lots, the aforementioned Jack's which is okay, I guess, and a PT place which is nice but really you need to be invited to go there. Off campus you have a few shitty hotels (although up the road they've built some nicer, bigger ones), storage places, an oncology clinic (weeeee that sounds fun), a couple of apartment buildings, and what? The freeway? A couple of busy roads, MAX lines all over, a grain silo thing, train tracks...hey maybe walk over the steel bridge and check things out...nope.

I mean, we are never going to get an All-Star Game unless the arena moves or something.

There are a fuck ton of strip clubs though. Probably the most per capita in the country.

The stairs to the lower seats has been shit for 25 years.

I really hope they upgrade the seats and maybe change the colors of them. And they also need to upgrade/update the replay screen.

Does The National Basketball Association look at this as a positive deciding factor?

This is probably the 2nd part(roof, 1st project) of a bigger renovation. They are going to do it in steps, probably a lot like NY did with MSG. Seating, Scoreboard, other upgrades. The area around the arena is set for a major overhaul. The future Albina Project could become spectacular with housing and hotels. LoDo in Denver was a place you didn't want to be after dark before Coors Field set off a ton of development. Now it's bustling with energy and housing. Similar thing, i believe , will happen to Albina / Moda Center area. The Blazers are prepping the arena & area for the Women's Final 4. Good things ahead, and a likely All Star Game bid.

Really nice rendering of Albina Vision on Skyscraperpage.com . Rendering shows potential buildout around Moda.
