I've said this before. You have to realize that Maris is just a character that he plays on the message board. He doesn't mean what he says, and only says what he does say because he knows it'll get a reaction out of people. It's kind of art like.

I am not saying she would have been worse knowing what I know now. I'm saying that during the debates when he said "you'll just waste it" when speaking of taxes my naive side thought MAYBE he would do something (anything) abouy it.

Pruitt and Trump's security and travel costs changed my mind. Plus I'd consistently said I'd never vote for another Clinton or Bush.

Jeb vs Hillary? I would have picked a third party if I voted at all.

This is a strange thread. Trump did not just become a POS, even to the minny minds of this forum. But he did get elected President of the US.
And as such, Maris is closest to the mark than anyone else here.

How do you know this? I mean that's just extremely bizarre. Surely no one would do that.

For an old(er) guy you sure are naive sometimes. Just sayin’. Everyone amuses themselves differently and some folk’s buttons are glaringly obvious and asking to be pushed. I’ve met @MARIS61 twice and he’s a very nice guy in person. And he certainly doesn’t appear to be someone who pushes his stances unless offered an opportunity to do so. Welcome to SC2. Personally, I think he’d be a fun guy to have a beer or three with and spend some time debating with. I suspect within minutes we’d be blowing beer out our nostrils from laughing so hard at each other’s bullshit. Maybe I’m the naive one, but I’d like to think otherwise.....

you're a good man UCD....I met Maris once..I can take some political ribbing but when it extends to my wife and her ethnicity or heritage..or the "shithole" country she comes from ..I'm not yucking it up anymore....basically saying that she an I are the problem and immigrants come here and sponge off the country....pretty hard to take lightly....I know he's interested in guitar and baseball but interestingly, never posts in the baseball threads......to each his own.. el prez has the shit down...I can laugh with him all day...love the guy even with his deranged politics

There's not really a "Trump base" as much as there is just a shit load of people who can't stand the left's bullshit. Like I've said before, many people would have voted for Pet Rock before they let another Democrat get elected.

Trump is just a lump of warm body to fill a void where Democrats might get in.

really....the GOP fielded a lot of conservative warm bodies that would have filled that void...yet voted for Rain Man without the math skills....you don't have to be left leaning to see the absurd choices made by the right given the options they had....I'd vote for Kasich tomorrow for president if we had that choice.

I should have said establishment candidates, rather than simply democrats. That's really what I meant. I would've voted for Pet Rock over Jeb Bush or Chris Christie as well. People are tired of the good ol boy club running the country, and although Trump isn't a far throw from that, he was still a shit-talking outsider and that's why he was elected.

Not because the Klan came out of the swamps to vote.

Well. They did choose Trump and the left chose Bernie..well, they would have anyway.

If it were Jeb Bush I wonder how President Clinton 2 would be doing right now.

That's about half the population you're talking about, Hillary.
