Leonard is such a huge part of our rotation.

I don't see Toronto trading Lowry for any of the garbage being offered in this thread.

Why does Toronto trade Lowry for our scrubs and Mo? Lowry is an expiring contract, they can just hold him and let him go at the end of the year if they want to.

I'd assume Toronto's first choice would be to ship Lowry and Fields (with his bad contract and all) for something.

Haven't really heard what they're looking for. Just that he's on the block.

I'm GUESSING that they want young guys and draft picks. We can offer young guys, but no draft picks. I would assume they're planning on starting Patrick Patterson and Vasquez. Mo is on a very affordable deal, so he wouldn't be a bad backup for them. We could trade them Leonard and Barton or Crabbe, depending on what they wanted. I guess it just depends on what they're looking for.

The Raps gave up a first rounder to acquire Lowry, they aren't going to trade him for a Mo that will opt out at the end of the year, Leonard and Barton. Neither of those guys would get any time on Toronto.

I don't know... they were dumb enough to trade for Gay, and that only last a year. I'm not really impressed with their front office.

Trading for Gay was a last ditch move by Colangelo to save his job. Now they have Masai Ujiri who is trying to clean things up. I'd assume they will build around Derozan and Valanciunas. But I don't see him just giving Lowry away for scrubs.

Lowry is in the last year of his deal, so I don't think they're going to be able to get a ton of value for him.

True, but at that point they should just keep him. He's not a bad player.

Would you rather throw the MLE at Lowry and hope it sticks (probably won't because he will look around the league and try to be a starter somewhere), or hope Mo opts in and spend the MLE on a big that can contribute now?

Honestly would rather throw it at a big. It seems that would be a good amount to toss at a backup legit big.

I thought the point was that they were tanking for Wiggins.

Probably. But I'd have to think someone would offer something, anything, more than Leonard and Barton. We don't have any picks to offer. There has to be other teams out there offering at the very least 2nds and young prospects on the level of Leonard and Barton.

    Dude.... Leonard is awesome.

(maybe if we say it enough, people in other cities will believe it.)

What would it take to get people to be happy with the team we have?

I'm happy with the job I have, but I'm working on earning my CPA so I can get a better one.

Happy does not necessarily equal satisfied. It certainly shouldn't equal complacent.

I will never be 100% happy with the team. There are always ways to improve the team. The Bulls had one of the best teams in the history of the NBA, but they constantly switched out pieces and brought in different talent. Their first threepeat was with Horace Grant and BJ Armstrong. Their second threepeat was with guys like Steve Kerr, Dennis Rodman, and Ron Harper.

The important thing is the core. We have a great core. Neil should always be looking for ways to improve the pieces around the core.
