You know Dame doesn't make excuses. So why are you making excuses for Dame? What's with all the excuses?
Inconsistency is one thing... to have HCA in the playoffs and not even be competitive while getting swept is another.
C-. Good 13-game stretch. Awful post-season. Might be a D+. This off-season will probably be just as bad as the season. C or D coming up this summer then another bad season before changes are made.
3 questions. Have you ever had the birth of your first son? Have you ever had a brother shot at a mall or a similar place? Do you know what Lillards mindset was after those two things happened? Please drop the tude if you want a discussion.
That fact that you think that post had "tude" is telling. Dame wouldn't make excuses, why are you making excuses for him... That's all I'm posting and you think that has attitude? Lmao. Wow. A.) He wouldn't use that as an excuse B.) He wouldn't use that as an excuse C.) I know that his mindset would've been to not make excuses. If you think Dame played bad because the other teams' gameplan, fine. If you think he played bad because Stotts didn't adjust to that gameplan, fine. If you think he played bad because he's overrated, fine. But there's a few people that are giving excuses for everything that went wrong, when our best player is a "no-excuse" type. You could make up all these excuses about his mindset and tell them to him thinking you're being kind, and he'd probably tell you to not make excuses for him, or the team in general.
We were down 15 points in 3 out of 4 games. And getting swept means you weren't competitive in the series as a whole. Yeah, maybe in a game here or there, things were close. But in terms of the playoff series, we were very noncompetitive.
a) fact b) fact c) fact I had plenty of good conversations today and don't need this one. Have a nice night.
I think Minni and Denver would probably give themselves worse grades than us but also be able to say hey we lost one of our best players for a large part of the season, (millsap and JimmyB), Lillard misses a few games and maybe needed to miss more to let his ankles heal up. I think Utah, LAC, New Orleans would give themselves better grades. I think if you asked a clipper fan (if you can find one) how they would do without CP3 and Blake griffin and they would probably guess they should’ve had a lot more ping pong balls.
actually 3 out of 4 1st game 2 point loss 2nd game tied with 3 minutes tio go 3rd game blow out loss 4th game 2 points behind with 3 minutes to go.
Honestly outside of game 1, it never felt like while watching that the Blazers were better than them that night or were going to win. Sure the score in game 2 and 4 were “close” down the wire but the games all seemed to be played at The Pelicans pace, the Pelicans dictated the style the schemes everything about all those games felt like Stotts was being completely out coached.
Nice little passive aggressive jab there. I can do that too. Thanks for making this forum more like O-Live.
it was only to point out that all but one game was close and anytime you are within 2 or tied with 3 minutes to go, it's anyone's game. People were saying we weren't competitive at all and the numbers show otherwise. I remember Kenny Smith doing an evaluation of scores in games. He said if you break it down into 4 seperate games and lose each game by 3 points which is a close game, the final score is by 12 but you were competitive in all quarters and within reach in all 4. In the NBA and 3 point shooting capabilities leads evaporate quickly and why we have seen 25 point leads turnaround and end up being 12 point losses.
Guys, we were competitive in some games of a series we got swept in. Maybe next year that'll translate into winning a game.
This is all feelings (and I recognize that), but it felt like the Blazers best players never found their rhythm. The Pelicans beat them up, they wanted it more, like the Blazers got hit in the mouth never adjusted, and just kept getting hit in the mouth. They had their chances, and never answered the call. Close games in score, but seemed demoralizing. With as bad as the Blazers "best 3 players" played, it was actually somewhat incredible they did make those games close. So I guess I get what you're saying, but this series seemed like a really bad dream.
s2 Grades: Everyone who missed the playoffs: F Everyone who lost in the first round: D Everyone who lost in the second round: C Cleveland: C Boston: B GS, Houston: A-
I think this post, imo, is direct and to the point. Everybody has something going on in their lives. We all have our ups and downs. Dame strikes me as a very private and professional guy. I like that about him!
In this case it depends what the goal was, it was very obvious a lot of teams were tanking for the draft even in early in the season. Phoenix might give themselves a B, because they got the #1 pick.
Those are s2 grades, I gave the Blazers a B, mostly for improved defense, which I find to be more important than some.
