Rumor What's going on in Portland?

Good. It's an eyesore at one of the most unique locations in the country. It should be a gem for us all to admire.

 

Multnomah County says it plans to pay landlords a year’s rent to rapidly house people living in tents in, near downtown Portland

 

Just went on the walk with the dogs…our neighbors have a pretty kick ass tree house.

 

In THIS neighborhood, wouldn’t doubt it. An ADU!

 

That's a cool tree house but I have to admit that seeing that moss on the roof is one of the reasons I am glad we no longer live in Portland. I need the sun.

Had to google what a dashboard of a '72 Oldsmobile looks like, and... no.

I am not one of these old dudes that spend all their time in the sun shirtless. I like the warmth and I like the sun - but I am fairly careful with exposure.

 

Outstanding. As I head to Hawaii in a week I need to do the same.

 

Portland Winter Light Festival

 

Is Portland not as much of a bad place as we all think?

 

It isn’t. I think a lot of this is based on the riots from two years ago, and how fucking ugly it is in many parts with the graffiti and tents. All comes across as some lawless violent city.

 

Downtown Portland was terrible the last few times I was there. Not something I look forward to visiting anymore.

 

Don't forget about the areas that still look like scenes straight from the Walking Dead with burned out RVs and tent cities popping up. Doesn't help with the perception of the city, even if the reality isn't that bad.
